Irish Wedding Inspiration by Shannon Leahy

Little known fact. Abby Larson, previously Abby McLucas, is about as Irish as they come. From my fiery temper to my love of the Clancy Brothers, my Irish heritage is one that I am very, very proud to call my own. As is the ridiculously talented Shannon Leahy, the designer behind our next bit of inspiration. It’s a modern Irish wedding done SO so right, with steal-worthy details that would fit just about any style of wedding. Photographed by Larissa Cleveland it’s pure eye candy and I can’t wait to dive in. We have even more images coming up next but if you simply can’t wait, click here!

Traditional Irish symbols like shamrocks and horseshoes are popular in weddings but I’ve had trouble finding authentic Irish weddings that fit my own aesthetic. So, in honor of St. Patrick’s Day I thought it would be fun to imagine a modern Irish wedding.

I wanted the wedding to feel rustic, timeless and insanely elegant all at the same time – not an easy task. Manka’s boathouse was built in 1912 and the weathered wood, bright white walls and immense hearth seemed like the perfect spot for an Irish wedding. Once I had the location, I reached out to Larissa Cleveland for the photography. Her crisp aesthetic would be perfect for the mood I was hoping to create. Mira Aster’s hand-made invitations and paper materials would add polish to the overall look.

More to come, but in the meantime, here are the amazing vendors that helped make this shoot possible:
