French Wedding By Belathee, II

Whenever I get weddings like these, it’s almost impossible for me to show off the photographs in a way that makes me completely happy. There is just so much beauty, so much sweetness poured into every image, it’s like picking my favorite pair of shoes. Impossible. So, although we have TONS of Belathee gorgeousness going up from today’s French wedding…feel free to ask for an encore at the end.

Our wedding was held in Merville-Franceville, a little village that hugs the Channel in lower Normandie, France. Grégoire (from France) and I (from Chicago) were an unlikely pair with a chance meeting, so it was fitting for us to try to gather up our loved ones in an unlikely place to celebrate our wedding. Grégoire’s parents, who are from the area, found us a sweet château with space for food and sunshine, and cottages our guests could stay in. While planning, we saw really quickly that we wouldn’t be able to control all of the details from thousands of miles away, so we decided to let Normandie be itself, and we’d arrive a week early to pepper in our ideas.

Some favorite touches we got to import: invitations by Anna Bond of Rifle Design, who came up with the creative idea of using cut paper to go with our decorations, calligraphy by Maybelle Imasa Stukuls (I could stare at her hand lettering all day), a Vera Wang dress snatched from Vows, and shoes from Marc Jacobs.

SO much more to come. but in the meantime you can check out even more goodness in the gallery.
