I have been dying to get this wedding out the door. You guys know that my love affair with all things Jose Villa is pretty huge. But at this point, I would only be able to categorize it as an obsession. And this wedding that Jose shot is total insanity. It takes everything that I love…vintage chandeliers, garden roses, organic detailing, French inspired elegance…and smashes it all together in a total piece of wedding heaven. And since I am kind of a blubbering idiot over this affair, I think that we should just jump right into the photographs that Jose shot. They tell the story to perfection.
Brandy Cabral of Bliss Event Production has been sweet enough to share a few details…
Michelle and Steven were engaged in France so naturally they wanted to infuse a lot of French inspiration into their wedding. The location was the spectacular Beaulieu Gardens in Rutherford, CA. Originally owned and created by George de la Tour founder of BV Wines and Winery, he was from France and created a multi acre property to reflect the gardens and architecture reminiscent of his homeland. The rose garden by the ceremony location was his wife’s contribution and is stunning. She collected different varieties and snippets from gardens all over the country and world and planted them in her garden. Michelle and Steven loved the property for the French feel and used the rose garden as an inspiration for the floral decor. Michelle wanted a loose and organic feel to the floral design and Kate from Flowerwild Floral was able to implement the style for her.
And Kate of the amazing, Flowerwild, on the flowers…
Beaulieu Gardens is undoubtedly one of the most romantic and naturally beautiful settings I have visited in my career as a designer. When I asked Michelle how she and Steve chose it from all the other gorgeous venues in Napa Valley, I remember her saying “we just had a feeling, like – okay, THIS is it – THIS is magical.” She wanted a bouquet that was free and wild, but still maintained a beautiful shape. So we added in some wild hebe and coral passion vine to create the triangulated shape. It had the most amazing fragrance and when paired with her amazing gown and smile….heaven! What a stunning bride…
