Inspiration to Reality II

If you’re just joining us now we’re bring you a stunning Inspiration to Reality feature from Cynthia Martyn Events, Bella Invites, Fuscia Designs, mimmo+naz, and Cake Opera Co. just a few of the super creative Toronto vendors that collaborated on this shoot. I’m completely gaga over the the color palette and LOVING the pomegranates. I’m already brainstorming ways that I could use them for a dinner party…

From Cynthia Martyn

Fuscia Designs provided our beautiful florals, and they worked with a palette of rich reds, pinks, and corals.  We wanted the flowers to be bold, and full of color, and they did not disappoint! We also incorporated motifs that echoed the beautiful henna in the inspiration board, as seen in the pretty stationery created by Bella Invites, and the imported favor boxes placed at every place setting which were actually hand block-printed in India!

Most of the table decor was actually sourced at vintage and thrift shops – I found all the glass bottles at a local Salvation Army thrift store, and they were a steal – 0.59 -$1.99 each, so I bought as many as I could find!  I also found the tall red candlesticks on sale for $8.00 each, so the cost of flowers aside, the tabletop itself was quite affordable to create.

The dress for our bride was one of my favorite elements.  I was searching for a dress that wasn’t obviously a wedding gown, but I didn’t want a red evening gown either.  It just seemed too formal for the rest of our design. Cabaret Vintage in Toronto is a charming boutique with some of the most beautiful vintage dresses in the city.  This particular vintage dress is called the “Truffle Dress” in raspberry, and I fell in love with the ruching details which seemed perfect for our “bohemian” affair.

Even if you’re sticking with a more traditional wedding gown for your big day… how fun would a little dress like this be for your maids? And with those flowers… a match made it heaven if you ask me.
