Today is another sparkly, glittery, all together lovely day on Style Me Pretty. Since weddings are winding down for the year, we thought it would be fun to feature a stunning, holiday inspired photoshoot that a handful of our favorite vendors designed just for SMP.
I have a huge soft spot in my heart for our Connecticut Vendors as they are just this rare little group of designers who are continually putting out some of the most incredible work in the industry. Today, we get the sheer pleasure of devouring a photoshoot that Lucinda Wesson of Chocolate Creative Design designed, along Sarah True and Yumiko Fletcher of Hana Floral Design and a whole slew of insanely creative professionals (full list below).
A few details from Lucinda… As designers, we are constantly trying to push ourselves. Deeply inspired by an intimate wedding of 50 at Island Farm that I co-designed this past fall, I thought about an intimate winter wedding inside the “Big House” on the Island.
So in choosing a color palette of creams, golds, purples and pops of turquoise, it allowed me to design a non-cliché winter wedding. Using various shades of each color, gave a richness and luxuriousness to the surroundings and by bringing in a multitude of textures and layering them gave it a casual elegance. The fashion was just as important and each piece was carefully selected to add color and sparkle to the table.
I was so fortunate to have teamed up with Tove Vigen of Tova’s Vintage in Westbrook, CT. I love the idea of mixing vintage clothing with modern elements. By combining the jeweled vintage dresses with bright tights it really gave the ladies a unique and modern look. Tove outfitted three of the ladies in her own collection of dresses as well as adding a unique piece of jewelry to each model (including men and kids). The men wore their own suits but were each given a bright silk purple tie to add color to their dark suits. H & M, Children’s Place, Target and the Gap outfitted the children. The girl’s shoes each got a satin ribbon to add more color and texture to their already sequined shoes. The bride wore a delectable lace and beaded strapless gown with hand glittered heels and a real fox stole, cheerfully named Max.
