Wedding Readings, Poems and Quotes From Style Me Pretty Readers

We had such a terrific turnout for our Calligraphy Giveaway! We want to thank Deborah Nadel for the opportunity to gift one of you with a calligraphy design based upon your own special readings or poems or songs or … whatever meaningful quote you sent in! You guys sent us SO many responses with some of the most heartfelt submissions we’ve seen to date.

As with all of our contests, it is quite simply impossible to choose the “best”. Below are just a few examples of what you guys sent in that symbolize the love between you and your loved one:

from Lisa … Our mass theme will be surrounded around this Scottish Wedding Prayer; “Lord help us to remember when we first met and the strong love that grew between us. To work that love into practical things so that nothing can divide us. We ask for words both kind and loving and hearts always ready to ask forgiveness as well as to forgive. Dear Lord, we put our marriage into your hands.”

from Karen … “Meeting you was fate, becoming your friend was a choice, but falling in love with you was beyond my control.”

from Blanche … from the finale of “Les Miserables” … Take my hand and lead me to salvation Take my love for love is everlasting And remember the truth that once was spoken To love another person is to see the face of God.

from Karen M and several other readers … “somewhere i have never traveled” by poet ee cummings

from Katelyn … “The Road That Never Ends”

from Sarah … a quotation from Homer: “There is nothing nobler or more admirable than when two people who see eye to eye keep house as husband and wife, confounding their enemies and delighting their friends.”

from Jillian … ‘Keeper of the Stars’ by Tracy Byrd.

from Morgan … “Love is a temporary madness; it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of eternal passion. That is just being in love, which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two.” by Louis de Bernieres

We could SERIOUSLY go on and on all day … there were SO many inspirational ideas for readings or vows or gifts for those special people who help you bring your glorious moment to fruition. If you are at all uncertain or just need some inspiration, please read through the entire comment section on Deborah’s feature.  It’s a list we want you to bookmark forever!!

And the winner of the contest? Melissa’s July 9th entry was the one that made Deborah’s heart melt …

It’s you I like,

It’s not the things you wear, it’s not the way you do your hair–

But it’s you I like

The way you are right now, the way down deep inside you–

Not the things that hide you, not your toys–

They’re just beside you.

But it’s you I like–

Every part of you, your skin, your eyes, your feelings

Whether old or new.

I hope that you’ll remember, even when you’re feeling blue

That it’s you I like, it’s you yourself, it’s you,

It’s you I like.

~ a Mr. Roger’s song {listen}
