Pretty Garlands by Satsuma Press

For those of you that are just popping in, the FABULOUSLY talented Lynn Russell of Satsuma Press is guest blogging for us today. She is pure innovation and I love every little bit of her.

I really do believe that the details are both where the fun is and how you make a wedding your own.  I love the idea of making decorations for your own wedding as a way to stay hands-on, involved and – especially right now – to stick to a budget.

I made these charming garlands using Japanese Masking Tape which is adorable in its own right – but perhaps even more so here.  Best of all, the tape comes in a lot of colors and patterns to mix and match – and a single roll of each goes a long way.  I used Italian cotton ribbon from Angela Liguori, which I also use for packages coming out of my letterpress studio, Satsuma Press.

They garlands would look so pretty along a fence or strung from tree branches, especially with twinkle lights and wildflowers.  To make them, invite some friends over, cut lengths of ribbon and wrap varying lengths of tape around the ribbon so that each one sticks to itself.

Later on today I’ll be posting about making paper cranes – and a party to go with it.   Check back for that – and, of course, don’t forget about the Satsuma Press Wedding Line Giveaway right here on Style Me Pretty!
