Love, love, love this next project that was sent in by Tammylyon of Uniquity Design…mainly because it encourages your guests to get to know each other in a really sweet way! Oh and not to fret, she’s included the fabulous, editable pdf’s that you can print out on your home printer.
From Tammylyon…I decided that it would be fun to create a favor for guests that would help them get to know their fellow table-mates. Not everyone at weddings know one another, so these conversation cards at each place setting will get your guest chatting up a storm during the possible lulls in the evening. The simple folded envelope holds a small set of cards which have fun questions to create conversation. Using the editable pdf template you can add as many type of questions as you like, you can even use them as a wedding couple trivia set.
In addition I have created a set for the children that may be at the wedding. The kids ones include a playdough (can be homemade and matched to your wedding colors) card stand and some play cards that tell kids to use the playdough to create animals for other guest to guess, use it for a game of tic-tac-toe, or even to create some wedding dress fashions. There are some with other questions and activities that are easily done at a table until the dinner and dancing start (or bedtime).
And here is the breakdown and instructions!
Materials
Adobe Reader
Heavy Card Stock, 8.5″ x 11″
Light Weight Stock or Paper, 8.5″ x 11″
Paper Cutter
Color Printer
Playdough
ZipDry Paper Glue
Instructions
1. Download the pdf template and save it to your desktop, open it up in adobe reader and highlight and change any of the text to make your own questions, or leave to use the sample questions.
2. Print out the sheet of cards on a nice textured cardstock. And then print page 3 of the pattern on a plain lightweight sheet of paper. Instead of printing the pattern, you can also use patterned scrapbooking paper, or a colored lightweight paper that matches your wedding style and colors.
3. Cut the 8.5 x 11 patterned paper in to two pieces that measure 5.5 x 6 inches each. These will become the envelopes to hold the cards together. Fold each one in half, and then open it up and make a 1 inch fold on one side. Use ZipDry paper glue to glue these two flaps together to make a super simple envelope/folder.
4. Cut out the printed cards using the trim marks with paper cutter, or exacto knife and metal ruler. Place cards in envelope and your done! If you are creating the children’s set simply make a small ball with the playdough and stick the envelope an cards into it to make them stand up. If this needs to be done in advance simple use a metal tin as a stylish way to keep the playdough soft and fresh.
