I have a real eye candy treat for you today. Our great friend Lauri Levenfeld of Zoom Photography sent me Leeta and Hunter’s rustic, yet totally glamorous wedding. When coming up with ideas for her wedding, Leeta wanted to incorporate everything that was central in Hunter’s and her life together. She decided to feature elements of music, art, and nature. Leeta and Hunter used a ton of different textures and colors to keep the feel lively. Her vintage taste only adds to the charm and personality. Take a peek!
Leeta had a very creative and open approach when it came to planning her wedding, so when she saw a friend’s wedding photos and asked who they were taken by, she knew that Lauri and Zoom Photography would be a perfect fit for her own wedding. Lauri is insanely talented, especially when it comes to working with various cameras and lenses to get the most amazing shots. In fact, Leeta said that she chose Lauri specifically for her work with black and white. Check out some more incredible shots below:
Now, you might notice that the dress Leeta is wearing here, is certainly not the same dress that she wore above. Leeta really wanted a traditional look for her ceremony, but when she found this 1930’s dress with a black silk bodice and eyelet full organza skirt, she knew this was really the dress she wanted to wear. So, she wore both! Right after the formal pictures were done Leeta slipped into this great dress for their reception, and then partied the night away!
Lauri Levenfeld of Zoom Photography and her second-shooter Page Bertelsen used some amazing cameras and techniques to capture the many shots from this day. While talking to Lauri about this wedding, she explained that many of the images were taken by her wild $25 plastic Holga camera which shoots in square format and takes exquisite photos, as well as by Page’s glamorous version of the square format, the Hasselblad (or “Hassie”). The results, fabulous (and coveted!) ethereal, whimsical shots. Behold…
As you can see, Leeta and Hunter’s wedding was totally infused with color, from the warm watermelon bridesmaids dresses, to the soft green of the lily corsages. The reception was just as alive, and for an added loveliness, the soft light of hanging lanterns gave so much warmth to the dance floor at the Fairfax Women’s Club. Well, it really was charming, check it out.
Okay, so I am totally in love with Leeta and Hunter’s wedding, everything seems so rustic, so vintage. What a beautiful day! Now, lets talk about Lauri Levenfeld and Zoom Photography.
