Romantic Virginia Wedding at the Dominion Club

From Don Mears Photography...Anne quickly narrowed down the wedding day theme to a whimsical and ethereal look with a touch of romance. For Anne, once she had a solid idea of her vision, she felt confident in making decisions, calling the rest of the planning process "a piece of cake!"
She enlisted the help of family and friends to make her vision a reality including a family friend who sewed and helped to install the custom draperies hung throughout the reception space. As Anne notes, "It gave the room a delicate, wispy feel and made everything look like it was flowing. Hundreds of glass votive candles filled the reception, complementing the sheer white fabric draped from the columns and doorways. These details set the tone for the entire wedding and transformed the reception area into the romantic and ethereal dream I had hoped for."
Another unique and personal element included the dream catchers Anne made by hand, which hung throughout the cocktail space and were offered to guests as a keepsake from the day, inspired by Greg’s Native American heritage. Anne also had the stems of her bouquet wrapped in the fabric that once covered her maternal grandmother’s wedding day bible, and the toasting goblets were family pieces that Anne’s paternal grandmother brought back from a trip to Italy years ago.
The favorite moment of the day was when the couple was pulled aside for a few last shots just as the sun began to disappear below the horizon. As Anne shares, "I remember holding his hand as we headed out the back doors. It was the first moment we had alone together since we arrived and were introduced as husband and wife. Those pictures will always remind us of how beautiful the autumn sky was the night of our wedding and how happy and in love we were in that moment."
