Classic Fall Dallas Wedding
They say everything is bigger in Texas, but this wedding is sort of a happy exception. It's love-centered simplicity done with elegance and grace, and thanks to Apryl Ann Photography and Copper Penny Films we're getting a first-hand peek. Cozy up and enjoy!
From the Bride... My husband and I met at a club in Dallas Texas called Glass (which is unusual because neither of us frequent clubs!) He had just moved back to Texas from North Carolina where he had finished up his Master's at Duke University. I had graduated from Southern Methodist University and was working in Oil and Gas. We hit it off right away and got engaged soon after in New York City under the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center.
We then went to Niagara Falls (one of my favorite places) and Toronto to meet his family. For our ceremony we had a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony where we honored our parents and relatives by serving them tea. We also had a traditional Christian ceremony at Park Cities Presbyterian Church as well- I absolutely love the stained glass windows of the church and the beautiful memories it carries for me.
I picked the Dallas Arboretum because I loved the flowers, rustic charm and scenic views of the lake and the Dallas skyline. It was absolutely perfect weather in November and we danced the night away under the stars. I had spent time making sure there were a lot of personal details including plenty of Etsy purchases!
The flowers had lots of green and white in them with touches of red and most of the decor was DIY'd by myself and my mother or purchased from Etsy. My dresses I actually bought preowned- the Aimee Atelier dress I found on preownedweddingdresses.com from a bride in New Zealand and the J Mendel dress I found for $150 dollars on Ebay. I tailored them to be unique just for me and felt awesome in them. All the little details really made the day special but the most important part of the day was the love and joy that surrounded us as we celebrated with our family and friends.
