[field title=”Food & Drink”]Their menu indeed included sea bass as a main (as well as prime rib, or crunchy polenta for the vegetarians). Their entrees were served family-style and included the creamy burrata, the beef carpaccio rucola salad, the summer vegetables, the crispy prawns… They also had a selection of cheeses, mini cookies and a macaroon tower.
Cocktails were a big part of T&S’s wedding. They hired 2 mixologist services, one for Cocktail Hour and one for the After-dinner party. Drinks included Moscow mule, skinny spicy margarita, French 75, ginger punch… and later on negroni, espresso martini, old fashioned and skinny spicy margarita. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Their floral selection, in a palette of whites and greenery, included roses, carnations, matthiola, sweet peas, hydrangea.
T’s choice of a round bouquet in a classical style encapsulated a sense of timeless romance and elegance.

The couple’s floral ceremony decor, indeed featuring a semi-circular ground arch (half-moon arch) and an alley of floral compositions in a deconstructed garden spirit, created a romantic and enchanting setting for the wedding.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]In lieu of a traditional wedding cake, the couple opted for a delightful chocolate fountain and a delectable dessert buffet, perfectly aligning with the relaxed ambiance of their special day. South Asian Splendor Underneath The Cabo San Lucas Sun

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The wedding colors were red, pink, yellow, orange, purple, and gold.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Danielle and Neel were looking to create a regal yet relaxed ambiance for their South Asian wedding, something that felt like a fairy tale but still held close to Hindu customs. A destination wedding seemed the most appropriate setting, and they ultimately settled on Cabo San Lucas: the land of never-ending sunshine, where the rugged Baja desert meets the dramatic Sea of Cortez. They enlisted the help of Del Cabo Weddings, who designed and executed a sumptuous South Asian celebration from the ground up. No detail was spared, from the bridal party’s intricately painted henna hands to the groom’s arrival on horseback.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Well before they married, Danielle and Neel shared a private spot, hidden atop a solitary cliff where the rolling hills of Malibu drop down into the Pacific. The evening of the proposal, they had gone there together to watch the sunset, as they often did before having dinner nearby. On this particular occasion, Neel asked Danielle if he could snap some pics of her in the golden hour sunlight. Midway through the impromptu photo session, he dropped to one knee and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. The next surprise came when they arrived at dinner and were greeted by their closest loved ones, there to celebrate the coming union. [/field]

Indian opulence, painstakingly crafted by hand, was the order of the day for our stunning bride. The heavily embroidered and beaded outfit, commonly known as a lengha, was custom-designed for Danielle by Manish Malhotra.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]As is customary in Hindu wedding ceremonies, there were no bridesmaids or groomsmen, but rather, the bride and groom were accompanied by their loving parents at the altar. The following day, however, Danielle and Neel held a traditional Western ceremony where the bridesmaids wore lovely floor-length chiffon dresses with flattering scoop necks and delicate spaghetti straps in the same deep burgundy of Danielle’s lengha.[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Our groom was outfitted in a resplendent Bandhgala suit fit for a prince, with exquisitely embroidered cuffs and a collar. The staid blue fabric perfectly contrasted the deep, rich burgundy of the bride’s lengha. Rounding out this royal look, Neel wore a stately Safa turban.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

Danielle and Neel chose Nobu Los Cabos as their venue, with its sophisticated Japanese aesthetic and globally renowned kitchen. The open bar served two specialty drinks in honor of the couple’s dogs: a mango margarita with tajín named for Zeus and a Scotch and lemon elixir for Apollo. Nobu’s head chef in Cabo was charged with concocting a dinner menu replete with traditional Northern Indian dishes that had to satisfy some very discerning palates, including Neel’s mom and dad! It ultimately included signature favorites such as a spicy paneer tikka, a slightly smoky tandoori chicken, crispy samosas, succulent lamb chops, and a hearty daal, to name a few.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Tables were draped in fine velvet tablecloths and accented with gold cutlery and tableware. Aria Vera Floral handled the floral design, working wonders with roses and wildflowers in deep yellows, oranges, reds, and pinks, a nod to colors often featured in Hindu ceremonies. Fresh flowers in this palette ran like rivers down the middle of communal tables and burst like fireworks above the circular tables. These same flowers were used earlier during the ceremony to create living waterfalls that flowed down either side of the Mandap, a four-pillared covered structure with pillars used as the altar for Indian weddings, which was also adorned with traditional Hindu decorations such as clay pots, sculptures, windchimes, vases, drapes, and wooden figurines.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]A three-tiered white chocolate sponge with dulce de leche filling and decorative floral accents satisfied every guest’s sweet tooth. [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]A Hindu priest officiated Danielle and Neel’s ceremony, which included the reading of traditional Hindu scriptures. Given the diverse backgrounds of the guests, the couple made sure all musical tastes had a reason to get on the dance floor. The reception playlist included modern Indian songs as well as favorites of R&B, Hip-Hop, Rap, and Oldies.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

The sunset was everything. Given the proposal’s setting, Danielle and Neel wouldn’t have it any other way. This meant pinpoint precision regarding timing on the part of the planners at Del Cabo Weddings. As a result of their hard work, the bride and groom exchanged their vows and sealed them with a kiss just as the golden sun dipped below the horizon.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]At the ceremony’s close, the bride and groom were showered in fragrant rose petals that guests sprinkled over them by the handful as they made their way back down the aisle.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]The drinks named after Danielle and Neel’s dogs were advertised at the bar by two adorable ink paintings of the pooches dressed in traditional Indian garments.[/field]

Classic Timeless Rhode Island Wedding at Glen Manor House

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The wedding palette for Isoke and Andre exuded timeless elegance with a delicate blend of peaches, light orange, rust, blush, ivory, and gold. [field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Isoke and Andre envisioned a design vibe of timeless elegance, with a focus on a generally fancy garden dinner. Transitioning to the mansion for dinner, the timeless elegance of Glen Manor House perfectly complemented their vision, setting the stage for a celebration that seamlessly blended sophistication with the romantic charm of a Rhode Island mansion.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]One of the first things Isoke and Andre bonded over when they first met was a shared love for Tuscany. Isoke had recently completed a semester long study abroad semester in Siena, Tuscany while Andre speaks fluent Italian and did a short homestay during high school in Montecatini Terme, Tuscany. When it came time to select an engagement location Andre thought it was important to select a venue that could incorporate their love for travel with their shared love for Tuscany. Andre organized a Memorial Day trip to the Finger Lakes where they spent a weekend wine-tasting and enjoying Seneca lake before he popped the question two minutes into their planned photoshoot in the Tuscan-style villa at Geneva On The Lake. A Casual “Spring Soiree” Wedding in an Idyllic Lowcountry Setting

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]We wanted to showcase the best of springtime in Charleston, and that means color! Pinks, greens, blues, and oranges made their way into the decor and floral. [/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

When we canceled our original wedding due to Covid, John and I decided to get married with our immediate families and celebrate with a larger group the following year. As we began re-planning, we switched to an afternoon (4-8pm), coat no tie “spring soiree” and picked Old Town Creek County Park for its idyllic low country setting. Who doesn’t love cocktails and oysters by the marsh? The small summer house served as the perfect backdrop during dinner, and dancing under the Spanish moss left everyone wanting more. When we first met, I brought Blake a series of inspiration images that had almost nothing to do with events. He took my photos of Simone Rocha coats, Matthew Carter interiors, and Schumacher wallpaper and manifested that look and feel into event form. The photo of a green Carolina Herrera dress became a striped dance floor and rose medallion plates, an arrangement of coral tulips. We wanted the day to have an understated elegance and warmth about it that would make guests feel at home. This was our opportunity to celebrate our first year of marriage, and share the life we had created in Charleston with those closest to us. We wanted to make sure guests felt welcomed as most were from out of town. We were able to greet them as they arrived, and spend the evening sharing the best of the low country with them. A true extension of Southern hospitality!

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

We were set up on a blind date in October 2017. John was living in Charleston and I was in Dallas, so a friend put us in touch while he was in town for work. Drinks turned into dinner, which turned into him coming back to town a few weeks later. After two years of dating long-distance, we were engaged!

John proposed while we were watching the sunset over the Kiawah marsh in October 2019. John told both of our parents ahead of time, and they flew in to celebrate with us that evening. It was supposed to be a big surprise to me, but I had seen my dad’s calendar a month prior and knew it was happening all along—whoops! Additionally, the ring ended up being delayed so he popped the question with a plastic dupe from Amazon. It was as imperfectly perfect as could be! Wedding Date: April 10, 2021 (we were married in Dallas with immediate family on May 2, 2020)

I wore an Oscar de la Renta lace cotton midi dress with lace detail. ***I wore my Caroline Castigliano wedding gown to our ceremony in Dallas, and wanted a look more appropriate for our afternoon celebration. I searched high and low for something and kept coming up dry until I stumbled upon this Oscar number. It was on a Moda Operandi trunk show and wasn’t set to ship until August 2021. I reached out to the MO team and they were able to special order the piece so I would receive it by our party. I had never even tried on a sample, so crossed my fingers it would work. It arrived exactly one week before the party and fit like a dream! John gifted me diamond stud earrings for our one-year anniversary, so I wore those along with Rosetta Getty shoes and a tennis bracelet of my mother’s.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

No bridesmaids or groomsmen, but my mom wore a fabulous orange Maison Rabih Kayrouz dress that we found at Forty-Five Ten in Dallas. She had worn an Orange Emilia Wickstead dress to our ceremony, so when we found this piece we knew it was meant to be!

First dance song: We had an impromptu first dance to “This Little Light of Mine” with the gospel choir during cocktail hour. We were quietly dancing on the side and Corbin nudged us out in front of the choir. It ended up being the perfect first dance as our planned dance later in the evening didn’t happen! We were planning to re-create our first dance to How Sweet It Is by Marvin Gaye and follow it with a joint father/daughter mother/son dance. But we saw the forecast showed rain (and we had no cover) so we quickly closed out dinner hour and rushed down to the dance floor. The dance floor was packed and we didn’t want to stop the momentum by doing a first dance so we let the gospel choir this little light of mine be our moment.

A Love Story That Began with Serendipity: Aubree and Ryan’s love story started with a touch of serendipity. They first crossed paths at a birthday party. Their connection grew over time, despite not exchanging numbers or talking extensively at the party. Ryan’s curiosity about Aubree never waned, and he continued to inquire about her, week after week. Their paths crossed again a month later, at a Starbucks in Green Hills. It was during a snowstorm, adding an unexpected twist to their budding romance. Their initial meeting left them feeling a connection, but life’s twists and turns delayed their first date. From First Date to Forever: Aubree and Ryan’s first date was a memorable one, taking place during an ice storm that left Aubree trapped at her parents’ house for six days. The delay only intensified their anticipation, and when they finally met for dinner, they talked for hours, shutting down the restaurant. It was the beginning of a journey filled with open and vulnerable conversations. Their love story continued to unfold, with a significant milestone being their presence as the only two single guests at their friend’s wedding in Phoenix. Their connection deepened, and they became inseparable from that moment forward. The Moment She Knew: For Aubree, it didn’t take long to realize that Ryan was the one. His kindness, genuine nature, love for family and friends, and his ability to connect with people deeply all contributed to her certainty. Their connection was undeniable, established from their very first date when they openly discussed life’s most profound topics. A Proposal Full of Surprises: Ryan’s proposal was a beautiful surprise that took place at the bride’s sister & brother in laws estate. Despite rumors from friends that the proposal would occur, Ryan had Aubree convinced otherwise. Little did she know, he had been planning it meticulously. While Ryan had originally claimed there was a dinner with his parents, it turned out to be part of the surprise. After the proposal, the couple was met with a family celebration featuring a beautifully set dinner on the back patio. The ring itself was a family heirloom with a story, a center stone from Ryan’s great-grandmother’s ring, making it even more meaningful.

Guests were treated to a sumptuous buffet featuring a harmonious blend of traditional Greek and Italian delicacies but also introduced a symphony of flavors through some of the finest Greek wines. The feast unfolded like a gastronomic journey, with each dish a celebration of flavors and cultural richness. From savory Greek mezes to the comforting warmth of Italian classics, every bite was a testament to the meticulous planning and culinary expertise that went into crafting an unforgettable dining experience for all who gathered to celebrate love at this splendid venue.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]
The enchanting ambiance of both the ceremony and reception was a testament to the extraordinary talent of Felicia Floral Design, the creative minds behind the day’s breathtaking florals and decor. Throughout the venues, an exquisite array of white and crisp white florals took center stage, with the best white roses of Greece serving as floral poetry in bloom. This delicate choice, combined with the lush greenery sourced from the verdant landscapes of Golf Prive in Glyfada, created an ethereal tapestry that seamlessly blended natural beauty with artistic elegance. The result was a visual symphony, where every petal and leaf played a part in enhancing the romantic atmosphere, turning the celebration into a dreamlike experience for all who were fortunate enough to witness the day’s floral and decorative masterpieces.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The couple decided to not cut a cake and instead do some charity with those money saved.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Stepping into the reception venue at Golf Prive, Heleni and Antonis orchestrated a musical journey that resonated with the soul of their celebration. Opting to be the first to welcome their cherished guests, the couple set the tone for the evening during the Welcome Cocktail hour. The atmosphere came alive with the mesmerizing sounds of a unique musical experience, courtesy of the renowned spiritual techno duo featuring the talented sons Vasilis Saleas, Nick Saley and Efrem. Despite their youth, the duo’s fame for delivering spiritual techno vibes preceded them, enchanting the gathering with a musical tapestry that transcended the ordinary during the cocktail time. As the celebration unfolded, the rhythm continued to elevate with the lively tunes of Champagne Live Music, an exceptional cover band that had been thoughtfully arranged by the couple. Their infectious energy and skillful performances ensured that the dance floor remained a lively haven, inviting every guest to revel in the joyous spirit of the day. The music became an integral part of the celebration, weaving its magic and leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who shared in this harmonious union of love and melody.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]#THE_VENUES
Reflecting on the magical day at Glyfada, my heart brims with gratitude for the choice of both ceremony and reception venues. The majestic Orthodox church of Saint Nektarios, with its towering ceilings and captivating hand-painted details, provided a sacred and awe-inspiring backdrop for the union of Heleni and Antonis. The historical charm of the church added a layer of significance to the vows exchanged. As the celebration continued at Golf Prive in Glyfada, surrounded by the venue’s lush greenery and elegant architecture, the natural beauty harmoniously merged with the creative decor by Felicia Floral Design. Both venues, each with its unique charm, played a pivotal role in creating an enchanting atmosphere that will forever be etched in my memory. The choice of locations not only complemented the couple’s love story but also elevated the entire experience, making it an affair to be cherished and celebrated for a lifetime.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]#KINDNESS
Heleni and Antonis, the heart and soul of this beautiful celebration, radiated a kindness that touched every corner of the day. Their genuine warmth and gracious demeanor created an atmosphere of love that enveloped everyone in attendance. It was evident that their kindness was not only a reflection of their love for each other but also a sincere expression of gratitude towards their cherished guests. Surrounded by a community of friends and family who exuded nothing but warmth and camaraderie, the air was filled with laughter, shared stories, and a collective joy that transcended the ordinary. The kindness extended by Heleni, Antonis, and their guests transformed the celebration into a tapestry of love, where every gesture spoke volumes about the beautiful connections that bound everyone together on this extraordinary day.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]#IT_WAS_ALWAYS_YOU
The crowning touch to this romantic celebration was the enchanting neon sign that graced the venue, adorned with delicate floral accents and illuminated by a soft, ethereal glow. The poetic declaration, “It was always YOU,” echoed with timeless romance, encapsulating the profound love between Heleni and Antonis. As the day drew to a close, my team and I seized the opportunity to capture the couple in the radiant presence of this luminous masterpiece. Against the backdrop of the floral-decorated neon sign, we framed shots that immortalized not just a moment, but the essence of a love story. The finale of the day, with the couple bathed in the captivating neon light, became a visual symphony, a testament to the poetic and romantic journey that unfolded in every detail of this extraordinary celebration.[/field]

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The wedding palette danced between the purity of white, the drama of black, and the vibrancy of green, weaving a tale of contrast and harmony.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The wedding unfolded against the rugged backdrop of Ibiza’s Cala Bonita, where a timeless black and white color scheme adorned with lush greenery painted a picture of love and tradition. The couple’s choice of venue, Cala Bonita, recommended by Bliss Ibiza Wedding Planner, proved to be a cozy and delightful setting, perfectly aligning with their vision. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the venue transformed with the soft glow of candles, casting a romantic spell that lingered in the hearts of all who attended. We’re incredibly grateful to the couple for entrusting us with their dream celebration.

More enchanting than the proposal itself is the couple’s journey from China to Ibiza, where they exchanged vows in an intimate gathering surrounded by loved ones. Seeking a laid-back and authentic experience, the rustic charm of Cala Bonita, dressed in black and white elegance with lush greenery accents, provided the ideal backdrop for their love story.

New England Summer Wedding Filled With Fresh Pops Of Citrus

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The wedding colors were orange, pink, green, and yellow.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

From the bride… “I knew I wanted to have bright, summery, citrus hues to incorporate my Floridian roots into our New England wedding. From there, I trusted my wedding planner (Katie Ryan) and florist (Fig & Squill) to curate a vision that turned out even more perfect than I could have ever imagined. We started with the idea of assorted-shaped natural Rattans at varying heights with hanging greenery and pops of bright florals. From there, we developed the idea of incorporating different hues and patterns of green to balance the citrus hues. For the ceremony, the idea was to have an organic and natural feel of colorful florals sprouting from the arch and along the aisle. The custom green-pattern dance floor was a last minute addition recommendation of my wedding planner (Katie Ryan) that not only complimented and unified the colors and details of the tent but also became the stunning focal point. Clementines as escort cards on the head table were also a meaningful way to reference my Floridian roots subtly.”

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

“Will and I were introduced by mutual friends during our sophomore year of college at Shooters II Saloon, a local Duke University bar. After repeated set-up attempts by friends, we ultimately started dating. After college, we were long-distance as I attended medical school in Florida, and Will attended graduate school in Boston. We subsequently reconnected when I moved to Boston to complete my Obstetrics & Gynecology residency training and, within a year, moved in together. Will proposed on a beach walk with our dog, Harlow, in Moody Beach, ME, where I grew up vacationing with her family. We now live together with Harlow in Rhode Island.” A favorite moment Katie shared was that their wedding day began in the morning, with the two of them sharing a cup of coffee and exchanging private vows while overlooking the lighthouse and ocean at their iconic wedding venue, Castle Hill Inn.

In everyone’s opinion, Katie found her perfect gown. The story she shared made it event better- “I struggled to find a wedding dress that felt simple yet elegant. My childhood best friend sent me a picture of a dress from Elizabeth Fillmore and insisted it would be perfect for me. I traveled to New York City to try the dress on and instantly knew it was the one. The long-sleeve lace top added an elegant element to the simplicity of the dress that was perfect for the ceremony. My bridesmaids all choose their own unique dresses with the simple direction of something blue. The end product was an amazing assortment of shades and patterns that seamlessly flowed together!”

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]The bridesmaids wore long flowing dresses in shades and patterns of blue to complement the bold pops of color and mixed patterns throughout the day. [/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The couple had chosen an array of colors that were both vibrant and subtle; from blues to oranges, yellows to greens, and pinks to purples. These colors were combined together in a range of different floral designs, with the main piece being the floral arch used as the backdrop to their ceremony. Mixed with the lush arch showcasing a picture frame view of the bay behind them, were vibrant florals in orange, red, and pink. In the reception area, they also featured various citrus touches with lemons, oranges, and dragonfruit as part of the tablescapes offering a bold and unique twist to the green-patterned linens.

Katie & Will’s cake showcased the most incredible florals made of sugar. Confectionery Designs created a work of art that not only blended perfectly with the wedding design and decor but stood out as a unique element.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The bride and groom are the best kind of foodies! They love food and wanted to really share their love of food with their guests. Their guests enjoyed classic from New England such as crab cakes, mini lobster rolls during cocktail hour while guests enjoyed their signature cocktails, Crazy Yin Love, a Boozy Watermelon (Boozy Watermelon: watermelon, cucumber, fresh lemon juice, mint leaves, white vodka, simple syrup) and Honga Teutonica: Gold Rush (bourbon, lemon juice, honey syrup). Guests enjoyed a fresh arugula and watermelon salad before feasting on a plentiful options of baked haddock, chicken picatta, braised beef short ribs and summer corn ravioli. Guests also were able to enjoy the best kind of sweets at the end of the night: a sundae bar!! [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Our design plan was based in the brides love of florals and minimalism. We searched for the best ways to combine these two ideas while transporting guests to Italy. We wanted the florals to feel like a combination of the end of summer and the start of fall. We utilized combination of unique hydrangeas, ranunculus, sweet pea, roses, gardenia and clematis. We wanted raw farm tables to feel like we were dining in Tuscany with the table being simple and undone. Candlelight and soft glow lighting was KEY to achieving this look and underneath the clear top tent. [/field]

Summer Elegance: A Romantic Hometown Soiree in Southern California’s Shady Canyon

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]When imagining their wedding, Shayna and Chance were very drawn to an elevated garden party which in turn helped guide their choices throughout the planning process. Their color palette features peach, blush pink, dusty rose, sage green and white – a combination that not only complemented the natural beauty of their venue but also encapsulated the essences of an elevated garden party.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Shayna and Chance strived for an atmosphere of romantic elegance. They wanted their guests to enjoy delicious food, great drinks and a lively band that would help them celebrate and dance the night away! Shayna and Chance wanted the reception area to be an extension of the already beautiful outdoor setting and transport their guests to a unique place to celebrate![/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Shayna and Chance were about to head off to Maui for a family vacation when Chance suggested a fun date night to kick off their trip. When Shayna pulled up to Chance’s apartment and opened the door, she was extremely surprised to see the living room covered in twinkle lights and a walkway lit with candles. At the end, Chance was waiting to get down on one knee! The next day, they joined Shayna’s family in Maui for a week full of celebrations!

The guests enjoyed an array of Shayna and Chance’s favorite Hors d’oeuvres from Shady Canyon Golf Club, accompanied by drinks of the guest’s choosing. At the reception, guests enjoyed a three-course meal starting with a beautiful mixed organic greens salad that had heirloom tomatoes, English cucumber, tri-colored baby carrots, watermelon radish, and balsamic vinaigrette. For their main course, guests were able to choose from a Filet Mignon with goat cheese, potato gratin, and seasonal vegetables or Roasted Chicken Breast with butternut squash, herbed spaetzle, field mushrooms, Tuscan kale, and natural jus. At the after-party, guests were greeted with sliders, fries, and milkshakes!

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Shayna and Chance wanted to enhance rather than compete with the setting of their ceremony and reception. They chose Shady Canyon Golf Club because of the beautiful scenery of southern California hills and large oak and sycamore trees. The floral arrangements consisted of butterfly ranunculus, roses, spray roses, lisianthus, sweet peas, mums, and Queen Anne’s lace. The elegant white dance floor was lit up by vintage chandeliers and twinkle lights that hung from a wood pergola draped in soft organic greens.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The guests were able to choose from two cake flavors: Vanilla cake filled with Dulce De Leche Swiss Buttercream, Dulce De Leche, Toffee Bits or Chocolate cake filled with Nutella Buttercream, Nutella Drizzle, and crushed Hazelnuts. While Chance and Shayna had their own flavor of Earl Grey Infused cake with Vanilla Buttercream, Orange Blossom Honey, and Blackberry Preserves![/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

Shayna and Chance’s grand entrance was to “Everywhere” by Fleetwood Mac, which really helped set the tone for the evening! They shared their first dance to “Thank You” by Bonnie Raitt, Their Father-Daughter Dance to “Tupelo Honey” by Van Morrison, and Their Mother-Son Dance to “Days Like This” by Van Morrison.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Shayna and Chance worked with Loly Orozco from the Little Postage House on their wedding invitations and day of paper goods. Loly Orozco says, “I am a firm believer that invitations set the tone for a wedding and represent a unique opportunity to make a first impression on your guests! After speaking with Shayna, I knew that the invitation suite had to be classic, elevated, and, most importantly, incorporate elements reminiscent of a garden party.” The invitation was letterpress on handmade paper and included a gold wax seal with the couple’s monogram and silk ribbon. The details card included a sketch of the venue. Throughout the invitation suite, florals and other garden elements were present, including a liner with a floral pattern and a wreath with floral elements. One of the things that drew Shayna and Chance to the Little Postage House was Loly’s vast experience with vintage postage curation. As one of the nation’s first and largest postage curators, the Little Postage House works with their couples on everything from their paper needs to their postage and mailing needs. Loly says, “Our ability to not just design a suite but to also pair the suite with thoughtful and meaningful postage is something that really sets us apart. We are a one-stop shop for our clients, and everything is done in-house. When working with us, clients do not need to worry about finding postage, the amount of postage that they will need, or even mailing their invitations. We handle everything for them.” When it came to curating a postage collection for Shayna and Chance, Loly curated a set that encapsulated their story. A golfer stamp was included s in honor of Shayna’s late grandfather, who was an avid golfer. The sunflower stamp honored Chance’s late grandmother, who had grown sunflowers in her garden. The California stamp was a nod to where Shayna and Chance grew up, met, and fell in love. The fish stamp was for Chance’s love of fishing- Chance, Shayna, and her Parents now own a Fishing Lure Company! After the wedding was over, Loly with Little Postage House created a Christmas Ornament with all the stamps used from their wedding as a beautiful keepsake of their wedding day.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

In turning to the day of items, Shayna and Chance worked closely with Little Postage House to maintain a cohesive and elevated look that reflected the same level of care and thought that went into the invitation suite. Loly tied the invitation suite details into the day of items by incorporating the couple’s monogram and wreath in the day of items and maintained consistent fonts and inks. Their monogram was also displayed on personalized napkins at the Little Postage House. Loly Orozco from the Little Postage House says, “Wedding menus are one of my favorite day items to work on because they are an important focal point on the table setting. If the menu isn’t right, it can throw off all of those careful decisions that a couple made during the planning process to create a beautiful table setting. So, we always work closely with our couple to ensure that their menus tie into the overall aesthetic of the reception. With Shayna and Chance, we printed the menus on the same handmade paper that was used for their invitation suite. We then personalized each menu with the guest’s name and meal selection, which not only makes service easier for the waiters but also makes each guest feel special.” Signage at the reception was created by the Little Postage House, which included table numbers, the bar menu, the guest book table, and the gift table. Each sign uniquely incorporated the same floral illustrations from the wedding invitation suite, keeping the look harmonious with the rest of the details.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]As a surprise wedding gift, the Bride’s parents surprised Shayna and Chance with a live painting of their reception. The artist chose the dip at the end of their first dance as the inspiration of the painting. The stunning painting now hangs in Shayna and Chance’s living room as a reminder of their perfect day.

Shayna and Chance chose Shady Canyon as their venue not only because of its natural beauty but in honor of her late Grandfather, he was the first president and an integral part of the formative years of Shady Canyon.

Shayna included plumeria flowers in her bouquet in honor of Chance’s late grandmother’s favorite flower.

Chance built a beautiful arch that they used in a small private ceremony in 2020. Shayna and Chance used that arch again at the beginning of the aisle at their wedding at Shady Canyon. [/field]

7 Unique Venues for Your Intimate Wedding That Will WOW

If the last year has taught us anything it’s that intimate weddings can be just as beautiful and even more personal than a bigger event. With the constant regulation changes due to COVID across the world, intimate weddings provide you with a way to still have your nearest and dearest attend your special day. With that in mind, I’ve curated a list of less conventional locations for your intimate event to be brought to life.

1. Art gallery

For those wanting a luxe, romantic and formal sit down dinner affair, an art gallery is the perfect spot to tie the knot. Normally, a great blank canvas – an extra bonus is that the art pieces bring personality, colour and texture to your event without you lifting a finger. A paired down guest list affords you the option of using smaller galleries as well as creating a floor plan that will allow your guests to admire the art work while you mix and mingle.

2. Your Living Room

Okay, so hear me out! This is definitely the least traditional of most venues but depending on your guest count an intimate event in your living room can be absolutely beautiful. Since there most likely will be less square footage to consider, having a planner or florist design something stunning is totally attainable and you won’t need to leave the comfort of your home. Move all of your furniture out and transform the space for your guests. You will definitely  create long lasting memories in your own space with this option.

3. Private Restaurant

Renting a room in a restaurant is a great way to host your intimate event. With the caterer being in house and most of the furniture necessary already provided by the venue, this gives you a great chance to relax and leave the details to the restaurant owner. Adding small touches such as centrepieces can really enhance the space and create a welcoming and personal environment.

4. Backyard

This option isn’t as unconventional but normally a smaller backyard wasn’t a  go-to place where couples wanted to host their weddings. Depending on your guest size, your backyard can be the perfect setting to tie the knot. On top of it being familiar it’s the perfect space  for an Al Fresco dining experience and with the right ambiance, magical for that late night soiree.

5. Airbnb

No space in your own home? A great way to get that “homey” intimate experience outside of your own domain is to find an Airbnb. Due note that some Airbnb’s do not allow parties or events so definitely check with your property host. Finding the right space is key. Whether by the water, in a metropolitan area or in a suburban neighbourhood – the possibilities are endless.

6. Coffee Shop

A coffee shop definitely is one of the most unconventional spaces I added to this list. Think of your local coffee shop as an intimate events gem in the rough. Depending on the layout these spaces can be great for social distancing as well as a chill cocktail environment. While maybe not the best for a sit down dinner – this venue is perfect for a more laid back ceremony with a meet and greet style cocktail hour.

7. Library

This venue definitely would suit the more casual couple looking primarily for a ceremony space and some laid back cocktails. Since libraries are bursting at the seams with books, shelves and architecture – this is your chance to have a personality filled event with built in decor. Personalize your event using your favourite florals, bud vases or even installations if the restrictions allow.

The true beauty of an intimate event are the personal touches you can add to your day as well as the time spent with loved ones. By selecting a unique venue you can infuse your personality as well as create an environment that is uniquely you without breaking the bank.

The way the hotel is built into the sea cliff allows guests to experience different vibes with each phase of the wedding. A lush garden terrace straight out of a fairytale set the stage for our ceremony, the rustic brickwork and traditional coastal decor of the beach platform served as the perfect backdrop for our cocktail hour and after party, and another terrace situated above the sea was a blank slate that allowed us to mingle the garden vibes with a floral-laden trellis above our one, long dinner table with a beachy, lounge area for after-dinner dancing. When I committed to the venue, the hotel wasn’t completely finished. I’m so glad I trusted my amazing wedding planner, Maryla, at Art Of Perfection Events for understanding my vision and knowing Borgo Santandrea would be the best venue to bring it to life.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Erik proposed when we were vacationing in Curacao. I had a feeling it might be happening during the trip, but our first night there, Erik convinced me that it would be too logistically challenging (e.g., sneaking an engagement ring through security with me right next to him, hiring a photographer in a foreign country, figuring out the ideal proposal spot), so I put it completely out of my mind, slightly disappointed. The next day while exploring downtown Willemstad, Erik was acting slightly off, being very indecisive and flustered about which of the many restaurants we had already wandered past to pop in for a drink. I shortly found out that he was just trying to find the photographer he hired, so he led me down a picturesque side street, where I was too enthralled with the cute cat sitting nearby to notice him down on one knee or the photographer snapping photos. Needless to say, I was shocked, and the photographer got some really cute photos of the proposal, cat included.

Both my ceremony and reception dresses were Olia Zavozina, a Nashville-based designer. [field title=”Food & Drink”]We had a selection of canapes during our cocktail hour- the two pizza options were fun surprises for our guests. For dinner, guests enjoyed a shrimp and tomato gazpacho appetizer, a pasta course, a choice of fish or beef for the main, and an overflowing dessert table. We had three signature drinks: Bella Rosa was the bride’s gin-based drink topped with rosé, Orange Amore was the groom’s take on his favorite Baltimore orange crush, and the Italian Shih-poo was a play on an Italian Greyhound renamed for the bride and groom’s Shih-poo Harper. We also had limoncello and aperol spritzes and espresso martinis flowing all night.
[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The amazing Armando Malafronte made my floral dreams come true. We did a deconstructed floral arch and whimsical flower-lined aisle with white garden chairs to create that fairytale feeling for our ceremony. The dinner table had flower arrangements in antique-style vases with different height candles lining the table and a trellis with hanging flowers and chandeliers above. Our wedding planner also rented some fun furniture to create a lounge area next to our reflective dance floor. We also worked with Momental Designs for our invitations, and they helped us create special stationary for the rest of the wedding, including the cover of our welcome booklet, signs for our table sections, the signature drink menu, and a monogram that we had printed on pillows for our dance area lounge.
[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake was the groom’s idea and one of his few requests- a “cheesecake” made of cheese wheels rather than cake. The venue was kind enough to pre-slice portions of each cheese wheel layer (one parmesan, one asiago, and one pecorino romano), and guests were able to enjoy this fun charcuterie during cocktail hour.

A Coastal Grandmother Summer Wedding at Connecticut’s The Mayflower Inn

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The primary palette for the wedding involved various shades of blue, from a soft powder blue to darker navy, as well as sage green, and classic white. To add a little interest and elevate the palette, we also added just a hint of saffron.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The Mayflower Inn and Spa’s interior, designed by Celerie Kemble, is exquisite and known for its punchy patterns and elegant use of bold color. As event designers, we so often look for ways to bring the outdoors inside to a space, but in this case, we sought to do just the opposite… to bring the sensibility and style of the indoor space out to the Mayflower’s iconic Shakespeare Garden lawn and the sailcloth-tented reception. We curated a few patterns and unexpected elements to bring a bit of the sensibility of that space outside to the garden party-style wedding festivities.

The elegant seated, plated dinner service included a seasonal fresh salad course, and a duet entrée of grilled ribeye and a classic New England crab cake paired with a risotto cake, saffron broth, and asparagus. For dessert, everyone enjoyed carrot cake layered with cream cheese, graham cracker crumbles, and vanilla buttercream.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Floral elements included ranunculus, tweedia, hellebores, queen anne’s lace, garden roses, stock, clematis, and greenery such as geranium foliage, maidenhair fern, and Italian ruscus.
For the ceremony, we used hydrangea, larkspur, and delphinium to line the back row of chairs and give a bit of presence to the ceremony area, which was set in a large field at the edge of a pond. The dinner table arrangements included an assortment of delicate, textured clear glass bud vases with clusters of white flowers. [/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Amidst the moody Ralph Lauren and hunt-club vibes, the couple aimed to create a culinary menu that paid homage to Aquiles’ El Salvadoran culture. As guests arrived at the ceremony, they were welcomed by a vibrant display of Agua Fresca drinks featuring a variety of Kiwi, Strawberry, and Watermelon flavors. The introduction to cocktail hour included a horchata display, adding a touch of Latin tradition.

The customization of drinks continued with their signature cocktails: a traditional Red Sangria and a Spicy Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita.

The culinary experience, curated by Dover Hall’s esteemed Executive Chef Leah Randolph, recently honored as Virginia’s Chef of the Year in 2023, featured crowd-pleasing Ceviche and Lamb Chops during cocktail hour and a delectable three-course dinner served by candlelight.

The plated dinner commenced with a seasonal Fig and Prosciutto salad, setting the stage for the main event: a duet of Red Wine Braised Short Rib and Airline Chicken Breast, perfectly suited for the chilly October day. To culminate the evening, guests indulged in housemade Pistachio and Mango gelato, providing a sweet and memorable conclusion to the celebration.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral design featured dramatic, large-scale installations accentuating areas such as the grand staircase, the stone fireplace mantle (standing 15′ high!), and the grand tunnel entrance to the Glass Hall. The bouquets featured lush florals with minimal greens with a color palette ranging from creamy beiges to pale burgundy and mauve blooms complimenting the soft greens and blues of the bridesmaid’s dresses.

Table lamps with soft warm lighting were placed down the length of the three 32-foot-long guest tables draped in velvet linens and plaid runners. The white lampshades glowed among the lush florals and candles set against the backdrop of a custom hunter-green bar staged to mimic the feel of an English Tudor library.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake featured tiers of textural designs to offset the softness of the floral accents. The cake created a modern focal point against the vast traditional and classic setting of the venue and event design set[/field]

They were legally married by an ordained officiant but the groom’s best friend led the ceremony with confidence and poise that matched the sophisticated setting of the day.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The couple displayed family heirlooms among lush florals and candles as guests entered the two-story foyer at Dover Hall. The experience of receiving and opening this invitation set the tone for this memorable and uniquely designed wedding day.[/field]

Soft Muted Romance At A One Of A Kind Old World House In Santo Domingo

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The bride loved the idea of having a lot of colors on her wedding, but rather than choosing bright colors like pink, red, and yellow, our design team at Viva L’Festa and the floral Designers at Nab Designs by Natalia Abad, went for a more intentional approach, bringing various colors but all in muted tones to match the antique vibe that the venue was giving. The softer, subtle pastels and dusty colors, combined with burgundy, blues, and mustard shades, created an intimate, charming, almost aged garden look on this one-of-a-kind venue.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The first time I met the New Yorkers Magdaline and Chris, their fun, vibrant personalities, her big beautiful hair (which he says that when they first met: “her hair was the highlight!”), and their clear concept of the wedding they wanted got us so excited from the start. The bride is an accomplished entrepreneur at a hair care tools company called ’’Hello Updo’’, dedicated to promoting hair wellness for all hair types. They’ve been featured in Forbes, BYRDIE, Bustle, Popsugar, Hola!, and many more for their innovative wellness approach and all hair type textures inclusivity efforts; so she had so many creative ideas to make this wedding ‘their own’. The principal concept was that they wanted their guests to feel as if they had been invited to “a special dinner at home.” The couple & their families were so much fun, and they really wanted to create a memorable and personal wedding where they could give a taste of their hospitality and love for details to each of their over 200 guests flying from all over. The venue was one of the most important keys to achieving this. So instead of a predictable wedding venue ballroom, we went for a Colonial and Republican architecture house called Casa Palma Garden, located in the old, beautiful colonial city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (the Island the couple has to thank their Latin, Caribbean roots). This 16th-century House had lots of interconnected, long rooms that would be the perfect scenery to create the ‘’home’’ ambiance and warm, welcoming atmosphere we would need to pull off this concept. The ceremony was held at the 16th-century church Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes. After that, guests were moved to the venue for cocktail hour in a local tourist train that crossed by some beautiful spots from the Colonial City. They were received at Casa Palma by folkloric típico dancers (a sweet gift surprise from the mother of the bride). To create a bigger interior-exterior space for the cocktail hour, we opened the front porch doors to connect it with the living room. Guests had drinks and cold local beers while they left happy wishes messages to the newlyweds in a phone booth. For the reception, guests moved to the house’s rooms to find their seats and later on to the courtyard for toasts and dancing under the stars, with a tropical disco vibe created by Cuban lamps and disco balls hanging from a clear tent. A local band kept the party going all night long to the sound of tambourines and güira! It was a large gathering, yet everyone felt that it was a thoughtful wedding day.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]

The bridal gown was an A-line silhouette, floor-length satin dress with a sweetheart neckline, balanced with a subtle hairstyle of a curly low bun, to create a soft romantic look. Her Jimmy Choo open-heels with all-over pearl-embellishment, topped with an oversized pearl for maximalist glamour, paired perfectly with her set of lovely pearls earrings. A scarlet red shade for her lips was her way to add some edge to the general look. To maintain modesty while add interest, for the catholic ceremony, the bride added a satin cap to her dress, that matched perfectly with it. Her veil had a brocade intricate floral design that fell beautifully from the church’s staircases.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

The bride preferred an intimate wedding party with just her mom to take her down the aisle, her niece as the flower girl, and her fiancés son as the ring bearer.

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]

Food and drinks was a big priority during the planning stages because of the couple’s “foodie”, lavish taste; so from the signature drinks to the choice of the menu, and extra fun bites and beverages like a coffee cart station opened all night, or “chimi’s” (a local street style type of sandwich) for guests as the late night snack, everything had to be freshly prepared, tasteful, and beautifully presented as a sumptuous feast (just as an amazing host would do in a dinner at home). Catering was provided by Con Boca – Gastronomic Studio, who served appetizers like mini Short Ribs Tacos, Goat Egg Roll, Boneless Wings with passion fruit BBQ, Lamb Lollipop’s and Shrimp Ceviche Shots. And for the main dinner some of the delicious plates we can mention were Live Pasta Station, Filet Mignon with pepper sauce, Salmon with Tamarind Glaze, Eggplant wraps with fresh cheese and basil, and Porchetta style pork cut and served in the spot to accompany the salads.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Just as the bride loves her hair to be all-natural, voluminous, and even wild, she wanted her wedding florals to do that. A lush deconstructed greenery floral installation cascading on both sides of the church’s staircases appeared as if they had just bloomed down the aisle. The wedding floral botanics selection was made by Nab Designs by Natalia Abad, which made a beautiful mix of florals that included caffe latte and spray roses, stock, mother of pearl roses, queen Anne’s laces, ranunculus, chrysanthemums, celosias, and scabiosas, most of them in muted tones to match the wedding antique color palette. Transitioning to the colonial reception venue, the couple decided to use most of the furniture that was already in the house because they loved it. Hand-painted chairs and tables, brought by the owner from Indonesia, Bali, and a mix of wardrobes of different sizes and colors that had been collected by the owners over the years, were integrated as part of the tablescape and wedding design. These added an authentic, clever touch that matched perfectly with Casa Palma Garden. Keeping up with the concept of a “Dinner at home”, the Designers of Viva L’Festa mixed and matched different floral centerpieces, furniture, and tablescape elements, creating non-identical and contrasting combinations and ambiances in each room of the house, that as a whole, looked cohesive, intimate and romantic. Combinations like blue velvet linens, geometrical shapes of china, and stone floral centerpieces in one room, and natural wooden tables, classic patterns china, and metal stem floral centerpieces in another, setting the scene for an elegantly enchanting dinner celebration on infinite long tables, where design and flowers compliment each other and intertwine to create a visual masterpiece.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]A semicircular arch back panel that matched the shape used in various design elements of the wedding, with organic floral installations on each side, were the background of the 5 tire white cake, with a cascade of colorful florals going down in the front of it, that imitated the floral esthetics and colors of the wedding.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The bar was the perfect description of finding a way to combine functionality and esthetic. For a better use of the space in the courtyard of the house (utilized as the dance floor because of it’s beautiful chess pattern marble flooring), alongside the creative team of MF Concepts, the design team created a customized bar, using the existing balusters of the terrace next to the courtyard, and converted them in the bar counter tops as a way to showcase the beauty of the house. This was achieved by adding a small customized layer over the balusters to get to the counter height needed, and a green colored back panel behind the balusters. They also added a module in the middle of the “bar” that would connect both sides of the balusters and make it look as one long countertop. Back lights behind the whole bar created a cohesive and modern look.

In the background as the bar back panel, they added lots of tropical plants, and arched shaped stands in front of them, with small disco balls that matched with the ceiling hanging balls over the dance floor. Finally, a neon sign of “Los Rosario” (the couples new last name), was placed in the middle as the name of the bar. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]A spoon full of love…
The sweet detail of a little wood spoon with a carved inscription with the date of the wedding as the souvenir was a delightful feature that found its inspiration in the Welsh “lovespoon courtship tradition” that dates to around 1667, were the young Welsh men would carve a spoon from a single piece of wood to give to their loved ones as a gesture of their affection and intentions. If the young woman accepted the gift of the spoon, it was viewed as an intention or commitment to get married.

The meaning behind the gift was written in a tag the team designed for every little spoon and beautifully placed on each plate setting, creating a sweet momentum when every guest sited at their table and added a touch of old world romance to the setting of the day.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]The bride lost her dear grandfather to the pandemic a few years before the wedding, so she honored his memory by placing trinitarian flowers hanging from the 2nd floor windows that faced the courtyard, over the dance floor, which pay homage to his love for these flowers and the idea that he was there that night, watching over her.

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The color of course was predetermined – shades of yellow and orange. Not to mention that the tangerines, which we used in the decorations, were carefully foraged around the garden we photographed in![/field]
[field title=”The Venue”]The venue was the private garden, inspiring us to offer an idea of embracing the intimate celebrations in family houses like this one. This is kind of a “quiet luxury” for us – having your unique venue, which nobody else will ever be able to replicate![/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Oh did we let ourselves go creative with the florals! Not only did Svitlana from Sweet Kvitka foraged the bloomings offered by the land of Athenian Riviera itself, but she added some home-grown tulips which traveled all the way from her London garden.[/field]
[field title=”Favorite Design Element”]We don’t want to be that obvious, but the Angels’ Trumpet flower did become the center element for us. And it opened up in all its beauty in a composition created by Svitlana with a antique-inspired greek vase and branches of tangerines straight from the tree.[/field]
[field title=”Tips To Pull Off The Look”]A good point to start is to look what the location you chose can offer for you – in terms of floristics, venues, traditions, ideas, colors etc. Listen to what has response in your heart and embrace the simplicity over complication. Choose the main element to build all the concept around – this way you’ll be able to communicate with designers and other vendors. Try to search for venues not only on wedding web-sites, but explore the private houses for rent or boutique hotels, or – visit your family house to pay tribute to your family heritage![/field]

It was truly one of my favorite weddings to design. This couple allowed their English garden vision to brought to life by the florals and the estate. We had beautiful overgrown garden arrangements for the ceremony, to the framed floral entrance of the tent to their stunning centerpieces. We incorporated so many elements to bring England to the states including vintage post box and telephone booth. Their crest was a nod to England’s crown which was on their invitations, menu and cups. They even had badminton available for guests to play throughout the evening. As a nod to their home in Bermuda, we had vintage Veuve boxes, black and white dance floor and rattan chandeliers with touches of greenery.

They were introduced to the James Bond Theme song and event their first dance song was Nobody Does it Better by Carly Simon! [/field]

Susanna stunned in a couture dress from Galia Lahav’s “Victoria Affinity” collection. Inspired by Queen Victoria’s wedding dress, the off-the-shoulder style featured a corset bodice and a fishtail train, with beautiful Chantilly lace trimming and elaborate Swarovski crystal embellishments that were truly fit for a queen. In fact, another Queen, Beyoncé, also wore the same Victorian-style dress for her vow renewal in 2018! For their traditional Armenian ceremony, Susanna dialed up the drama with a custom statement cape designed by Sharon Sever, head designer at Galia Lahav. During sunset photos on the Pont Alexandre III, she wore another detachable accessory: billowing sleeves that were the perfect touch of je ne sais quoi for a wedding in the fashion capital of the world!

This Custom Clear Tent At The Bride’s Family Home Was Adorned With 26,000 Twinkle Lights

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Friday: Orange, yellow, and deep pinks

Saturday and Sunday: Blush and cream

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Set on the private estate of the bride’s family home in the Baltimore suburbs, this Indian-Pakistani wedding celebration featured a custom clear tent design adorned with over 26,000 twinkle lights. Sana and Nakul envisioned a multi-day extravaganza weaving together their heritages and traditions. Celebrations began on Friday evening, featuring a mehndi framed by a warm toned palette intended to make the space feel joyous and playful. With the vibrant orange, yellow, and deep pink florals and linens, the space felt cozy and intimate while welcoming their guests to embrace the beginning of the weekend’s events. People enjoyed Indian and Pakistani street food stations during cocktail hour while sipping culturally inspired mocktails poolside. Bhangra dancers, henna stations, and a performance by Bollywood sensation (and brother of the groom) Akull Tandon provided entertainment into the evening. Saturday’s color palette provided a study in contrast to the evening before, with Briana Dixon and Kara Hinchcliff from Nouvelle Weddings and Victoria Clausen from Victoria Clausen Floral Events creating a floral dream of blush and creams, overflowing in abundance and texture. In comparison to the guest dress code of warm colors from the night before, Sana and Nakul requested that their guests wear jewel toned garments to stand out against the classic color palette of the florals and linens. Although they held a religious ceremony prior to the wedding weekend, the couple held a private ring exchange after their first look on Saturday to cement their nuptials. The groom entered the wedding celebrations baraat style, dancing atop a horse to the beat of a dhol drumming. Guests approached the couple to offer congratulations throughout the evening, and the night closed with a heartfelt exchange of emotions between the parents before Sana and Nakul raced through a sparkler exit with all 400 guests.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Nakul is originally from Delhi and Sana is from Baltimore. The couple met during their time in graduate school in St. Louis. Nakul relocated to the Baltimore area in 2022 and soon after proposed at Loch Raven Reservoir. With the help of the Nouvelle team, the couple celebrated their wedding at the family home in Baltimore this past fall.

Sana’s gowns were all custom designed in Pakistan by the following designers: Farah Talib Aziz, Maheen Karim, and Sheetal Batra. Sana and her mother traveled to Pakistan months before the wedding to begin preparations on their garments for each of the different events. When the time came, Sana and her mother adorned 6 beautiful and unique gowns throughout the weekend.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Guests enjoyed a variety of Indian and Pakistani cuisine over the weekend. Street food inspired bites such as Pani Puri, Aam Palak Chaat, Chicken Tikka Puff, Gulab Jamun Cheesecake, and Ras Malai Cups were set up at stations and passed during cocktail hour and during dessert. In keeping with tradition to abstain from alcohol, culturally inspired mocktails such as a Blueberry Nimpu Pani and a Masala Mojito were served at signature bars placed throughout the estate. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

In partnership with Sugarplum Tents, Briana and Kara wanted to enhance the couple’s property with a clear top tent not only large enough to seat all of the guests for meals but also to highlight the special performances that were present during the weekend. Sugarplum Tents provided three separate tents as the platform for a magical reception space on both nights. In addition, three more tents were added to the cocktail hour space to ensure that the weather didn’t disrupt the fun that was to be had! Throughout both tented areas, Victoria Clausen Floral Events enhanced each space with florals to match the vibe of each night. From creating a backdrop for a stage that matched the energy of the performers to fashioning a tent entrance that dazzled guests as they joined the receptions, Victoria and her team brought the designs to life. Rentals from Select Event Group and Something Vintage Rentals allowed for differentiated tablescapes and vignettes between each event that took place that weekend.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Sana and Nakul wished for a wedding cake that was simple and elegant but one that would also be the focal point of their reception on Saturday night. Kupcakes And Co created a tiered cake that was dressed with sprawling white florals and boasted the couple’s favorite flavors. The cake had its own moment as it sat at the center of the reception tent atop a pillar that was surrounded by additional florals and candles. The cake became the centerpiece for guest photos and the couple enjoyed their cake cutting for all to see.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]As a personal touch to the wedding weekend, the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom wished to thank their guests with gifts that represented their different cultures. A welcome display on Friday evening grabbed the guests attention as it presented beautiful gifts of bangles, bags, and floral bracelets. On Sunday during the farewell brunch, colorful clutches were the parting gifts for all to take as they said their goodbyes to the newlyweds.
[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

Akull Tandon, a Bollywood singer/songwriter as well as the groom’s brother, performed for all on Friday night. Akull stated how special it was to perform for Sana and Nakul in celebration of their wedding and kept everyone on their feet throughout his show!
