Rustic Berkshire Backyard Rehearsal Dinner

When your wedding is this fabulous, you can only imagine what the rehearsal dinner will entail.  An evening with Fire Roasted Catering complete with local ingredients and perfectly mixed cocktails proved to be the perfect prep for this happy couple.  Charlotte Jenks Lewis Photography was behind the lens and snapped up a gallery filled with backyard delights here.

From the Bride… For our rehearsal dinner, we chose to have a BBQ in our backyard. We hired a local catering company that specialized in fire roasted cooking with only using local ingredients. The challenge for them was that about half the party were vegetarians and half hearty meat eaters. Alex really wanted a pig roast so we combined that with lots of amazing vegetable dishes all cooked over a fire pit in our backyard over the course of about 6 hours. A friend, a professional chef who has hosts a lot of large group dinners, made all of the drinks for both our rehearsal dinner and our ceremony and another friend, a landscape architect, picked wildflowers from her garden and made casual arrangements for the tables. We rented rustic wooden tables and set them up to create one long table under the trees. The food was abundant and delicious. People swam and the kids climbed the trees. When the sun went down, we turned the cooking fire into a bonfire and had s’mores and sipped whiskey. It was perfect!

Early Summer Wedding in the Berkshires

There are few settings more fitting to dedicate your life to someone than a grand estate with majestic hills gently unfolding into the horizon. Add in billowing canopies, a graceful color palate of subdue grays, purples, pinks, and an heirloom wedding ring, and that my friends is what dream weddings are made of. Thanks to Grazier Photography you can witness the entrancing nuptials below.

From Grazier Photography... We really enjoyed the time we spent with Rebecca and David. From the silliness at their engagement session to the constant smiles and loud laughs at their wedding, being around these two just makes a person feel good. Rebecca and David were married at The Wheatleigh Hotel in Lenox, MA on a gorgeous early summer day. Rebecca’s fabulous makeup by the talented Katrina Hess was perfect and Rebecca looked gorgeous from beginning to end. We were joined by the amazing Crocus Hale who decorated the venue with a pallet only she could devise – some of the floral elements were foraged in the White Mountains that morning. After portraits, David’s father and grandfather surprised him with a special gift of a family ring that has been handed down for generations. It was a very moving moment and I love the photo of the grandfather holding David’s hand after the ring was passed on.

Oceanside Wedding at Belle Mer Island House from Krystal Kast Photographers

Rhode Island is a crazy magical place to say “I do.”  A place where seaside nuptials and breathtaking views mix and mingle with preppy details and heartwarming traditions.  It’s a place where darling couples like these two sweeties flock to host their big day… and fill it with classic touches (hello gorgeous Tara Keely by Lazaro gown and lush florals from Sweet Petals) and romantic moments aplenty.  See them all captured beautifully by Krystal Kast Photographers in the full gallery.

From KrystalI am thrilled to share this exquisite oceanside wedding with you! The ceremony and reception took place at Belle Mer in Newport, Rhode Island. The venue’s contemporary vibe and oceanside backdrop was a stunning setting for this beautiful couple!

From the Bride… In creating our wedding it was important that the day truly captured both of us. My husband’s family is originally from Nice, and I grew up in Rhode Island, so we wanted to include elements that reflected both. Choosing a location on the water, with views of the Newport Bridge in the background was the perfect way to bring these locations together. In our “Nice meets Newport” ideal, it was key that we incorporated a mix of new and vintage that reflected our personal tastes. In Belle Mer’s very modern space, we added touches such as terrariums embellished with fleur de lis to create the best of both old and new.

The day of our wedding, all of the individual pieces came together even better than we could have imagined. Elements that are unique to Rhode Island, such as Del’s Lemonade, kept our guests cool during the outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, and there even ended up being a regatta the day of our wedding, making the day even more picturesque. Not only was the day itself beyond perfect, but being surrounded by all of our friends and family was what really made the day perfect for us.
