Rustic Fall Wedding
I'm a complete sucker for rustic romance, so give me a day filled with burlap, mason jars and golden apples (yes, golden apples) and you'll see one very, very happy lady. Then set all of those awesome details up against a crazy cool barn setting and throw in a bride and groom who are the epitome of adorable and it basically can't be beat. See every moment captured by Leah Haydock in the full gallery.
And a little extra special treat... the gorgeous film from the always amazing Long Haul Films. Enjoy, lovelies.
From The Bride... Mike and I met while living in Boston after college. Mike won me over with his playfulness and charm. He would do little things like bring me coffee when I was studying or leave flowers on the windshield of my car. He is quite the charmer and continues to do these little things to show me he cares every day! We have been together for four years now, and were married on September 13th at the Red Lion Inn in Cohasset. I'm one lucky gal.
I have always been a romantic. I love anything and everything soft, pretty and chic. I also love that rustic feel, so when I saw the Red Lion Inn barn with all the wooden beams and floors, I could imagine the candles glowing and people dancing and it made me get all warm and fuzzy inside. We incorporated apples throughout the wedding, with apple cake pop favors and spray painted sparkly apples, because we got engaged on an apple orchard last October. I love the look of chalkboards, so we used a lot of chalkboard signs throughout the wedding which my sister designed. One of the best parts of my day was walking into the barn and seeing it all come together. You have this vision in your head of what it will be like, and to be honest, it was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. It was the best day ever!
It's hard to decide on a favorite moment from the day. From getting ready with my girls, to our First Look, to riding on the trolley with our wedding party, it was all so fun! I would have to say, though, I think being pronounced husband and wife and looking out into the crowd of all of our friends and family cheering for us, was a moment I will always remember. We had an "Unplugged Ceremony" where we encouraged our guests not to use their phones or cameras to take pictures, so when we looked out into the crowd we saw everyone smiling back at us - it was truly awesome.
I can confidently say that we had the best combination of vendors. Everything about the day went smoothly and I never felt like I was stopping to answer questions or tell people where to go. Everyone we worked with was so professional and had one common goal: to make us happy. Our photographer, Leah Haydock, was amazing and had a huge part in making the day go smoothly. Her photos are absolutely beautiful and I am already trying to come up with reasons to have her photograph us again! Our videographers, Long Haul Films, just won "Best of Boston," and rightfully so. They are so good at being there without you even knowing it and we can hardly wait to see our wedding film! Our band, Groove Authority, kept the dance party going all night long. Literally, people did not even want to sit down and eat their dinner because they just wanted to dance! Our flowers from Les Fleurs in Andover were gorgeous and Kerianne was so wonderful to work with! Jen Tawa Hair Design and Dani Wagener Makeup were both such a pleasure to work with and made myself and all of my bridesmaids feel beautiful! I feel like we had a wedding day dream team!
If I had one piece of advice to give future brides, it would be to make sure to stop and take it all in. All of the prepping, planning, shopping... everything you have done to make this day happen has come together and it is so awesome to see. Make sure you stop to take in all the details. Make sure you stop to take in all the little moments with your husband. Most importantly, make sure you stop to take in that beautiful space, whether it be a barn, a ballroom, a tent or a backyard and soak in that feeling that all of the people you love are in that one place at the same time, and they are there for you! It is a feeling like no other.
