Vibrant Salt Lake City Home Tour
We could honestly spend a whole week diving into this home's many incredible corners. Instead, we're settling on two days. From the tippy top of that acrylic and gold chandelier to the pastel ginger jars displayed front and center on the dining table; it's a doozy. One crafted by House Of Jade in what can only be described as Dream Home Worthy. Find more captured by Kate Osborne in the VAULT and be sure to check back tomorrow for bedrooms with some serious personality.
Last winter House of Jade was approached by Ivory Homes, a local home builder, to decorate a model home for them. It was to be showcased in the Salt Lake Parade of Homes. They were willing to give us entire creative control and we jumped at that opportunity! For the design, we wanted to make a bold statement by incorporating a lot of color and wallpaper. The house itself isn't huge, square footage wise and wanted to make the space feel comfortable and functional, while not sacrificing style. It all came together and came together exactly how we envisioned it!
Living Room
The room itself had a lot of natural light so we decided to go with a navy grasscloth wallpaper. It brings just enough sophistication and warmth to the bright room. We also wanted the art above the fireplace to stand out and navy was the perfect contrast.

Office
The office is located just off the living room. We kept it light and airy, but made sure we incorporated color!

Kitchen and Dining Room
We kept the kitchen and dining room more neutral than the other areas in the house. We really wanted to take advantage of and showcase the natural light from the large windows! We accomplished that by using lighter tones and then added pops of color.

Master Bedroom
We wanted the master bedroom in the model home to make a statement, but also wanted to create a soothing and calm retreat. We wanted to take advantage of the vaulted ceilings and the brass canopy bed was the perfect fit. Using the grasscloth wallpaper added just enough texture to the white molding.

Laundry Room
In the laundry room we wanted to get away from the stale feeling you can get. Even though it was a very small space, we really wanted to make it a bright and colorful. The wallpaper really make it feel inviting and complete.

Family Room
As you can see, the basement has great natural light. We created a fresh and comfortable space for the family room. The wallpaper was subtle, but added just enough color and dimension in the space. We love how the balance between the dark blues, neutrals and greens turned out.
