Elegant La Venta Inn Wedding

After reading this Bride's sweet story of how she and her handsome Groom met and what took place just a few short weeks into their dating relationship, I'm in awe. And I'm convinced that they'll stand strong and tall no matter what curve ball life throws at them. It's heartwarming goodness and Dave Richards Photography was there to capture it all at the lovely La Venta Inn!

From the beautiful Bride… We met while out with friends one night in Manhattan Beach. We had an immediate connection and were drawn to each other like magnets. Our relationship was pure bliss and excitement and we grew close very quickly. Early on, we talked about how we finally understood the phrase "when you know, you know" and we discussed our future openly and casually together. We loved how we could completely be ourselves around one another and how everything between us was so easy.

We believe fate brought us together to meet when we did because a few weeks after we met he was diagnosed with cancer. He went through two surgeries and five months of chemotherapy. We stood by each other through this tough time with unwavering support and without ever doubting what we had. We grew stronger as a couple and started our life-long relationship off with a foundation full of love, trust and support. Once he recovered and was cancer-free, he proposed to me in Newport Beach, on a hill overlooking the ocean at sunset. It was perfect.

We envisioned having an intimate wedding with our closest family and friends. The majority of our guests were traveling from out of state so we wanted a venue close to the ocean that would take their breathe away and capture the beauty of Southern California. We fell in love with La Venta Inn because it is high up in the hills of Palos Verdes, and overlooks the Pacific Ocean and Manhattan Beach, where we met, had our first dates and fell in love.

I wanted a neutral-colored theme with modern glamour and just a twist of vintage style to blend in with the vintage feel of La Venta Inn. My wedding ceremony dress had a mix of lace and chiffon so my bridesmaids and I found a mix of chiffon and lace champagne-colored dresses for them, each with their own unique style. I really wanted a fun, fresh look for the outside garden ceremony and a classic, elegant look for the inside reception.

My husband and I had a lot of fun planning the wedding together. We also had the help of an amazing wedding coordinator, Tim Kennedy through La Venta Inn. We were blessed with wonderful wedding vendors and could not have been happier with how everything turned out. Our wedding day was the best day of our lives and absolutely a fairytale come true. Now we are living our happily ever after.
