Ivory, champagne, soft gold, sage green, and hints of warm stone. The palette was inspired by the natural tones of the Tuscan countryside and the limestone walls of San Galgano Abbey — timeless, romantic, and perfectly in harmony with the setting.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]
Our vision was to create an experience that felt both transcendent and grounded — a wedding that honored history while celebrating modern love. The design was intentionally organic and refined, allowing the raw beauty of San Galgano Abbey’s open-air ruins to shine. At Borgo Santo Pietro, the aesthetic transitioned into understated luxury: candlelight, textured linens, and soft neutral florals framing a long, candlelit dinner beneath the cypress trees. We wanted guests to feel like they were stepping into a dream — where music, architecture, and nature worked in perfect harmony. Every element, from the orchestra’s soaring notes to the flicker of candlelight at dinner, was meant to evoke a sense of reverence and wonder.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]
Sam proposed to Anita in Rioja, Spain, atop a breathtaking mountain called San Lorenzo, nearly 7,500 feet above sea level. It was a cloudy morning, and Anita thought they were simply going on a quiet hike — until the trail opened up to reveal sweeping views of the mountain ranges and a sea of clouds below them. As the mist shifted and sunlight broke through, Sam knelt and asked her to marry him. It was an “above-the-clouds” proposal — intimate, spontaneous, and unforgettable — a moment that perfectly captured the adventurous spirit that defines their relationship.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Anita wore a breathtaking Nicole + Felicia Couture gown from the designer’s Winter Collection, featuring a hand-sewn floral train that cascaded over nine feet behind her. The gown’s sculpted silhouette and delicate lace detailing created a look that felt both regal and ethereal — dramatic enough for the soaring arches of San Galgano Abbey, yet soft and romantic against the Tuscan light.
She wore no jewelry other than her wedding ring and a Mikimoto pearl bracelet, which she spontaneously transformed into a choker moments before the ceremony. A gift from her mother that morning, it became an unplanned but perfect finishing touch — understated, emotional, and the final detail that completed the look with effortless grace.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]
The bridesmaids were encouraged to choose their own gowns in shades of green, Anita’s favorite color, creating a softly tonal palette that complemented the Tuscan countryside. The result was a beautifully organic mix of textures and silhouettes — from deep olive satin to soft sage chiffon — evoking the natural hues of Borgo Santo Pietro’s gardens. The variation in styles reflected each woman’s personality while maintaining a cohesive, elevated look that felt effortlessly elegant.

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Sam wore a tailored Bonobos suit, custom-fitted for the occasion, striking a sharp and sophisticated silhouette. His look was classic black-tie with a modern edge — perfectly balanced for the grandeur of the Abbey and the refined atmosphere of Borgo Santo Pietro. The groomsmen coordinated in complementary tones with simple boutonnieres that echoed the bride’s floral palette.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]
Dinner was curated by the two-Michelin-starred culinary team at Borgo Santo Pietro, a five-course tasting that reflected the heart of Tuscan fine dining. Guests began with Borgo’s signature bread, local olive oil, and cultured butter, followed by chickpeas from Cortona paired with red shrimp, candied lemon, and lemongrass — a dish that perfectly balanced warmth and brightness. The second course featured red snapper baked on the skin with beans and dill, light yet full of depth, followed by pappardella filled with beef and red prawn in a white-wine butter sauce, the table favorite of the evening. For the main course, guests were served a tender fillet of beef with BBQ courgette and tomato, paired beautifully with a glass of Le Murelle Supertuscan 1N S.A. The meal concluded with a delicate red-fruit, mint, and meringue dessert, complemented by a pour of Arrighi Aleatico d’Elba 2022/2023. Each dish was accompanied by hand-selected wines — from the crisp Albarola Lunae 2024 and elegant Dievole Trebbiano 2021 to the structured Carlotto Pinot Nero 2021 — curated to follow the progression of the evening’s flavors. To close the night, the couple skipped the traditional cake, instead sharing a final toast of Amaro before leading guests into Borgo’s Treehouse Lounge for after-dinner cocktails, live music, and dancing beneath the Tuscan lightning-lit sky.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral design was elegant in its restraint — a study in simplicity and light. Borgo Santo Pietro’s in-house floral team created a romantic tablescape of white ranunculus, tulips, roses, and Queen Anne’s lace, arranged in delicate glass vases of varying heights. Crystal candlesticks with slender taper candles glowed under the open-air courtyard, their reflections flickering softly across the glass vessels and tableware.
The look was timeless yet fresh — balancing modern minimalism with old-world charm. Every element, from the clear glass textures to the soft ivory palette, allowed the natural beauty of the venue to take center stage, giving the evening an ethereal, candlelit glow that felt both intimate and unforgettable.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]
In true Italian spirit, Anita and Sam chose to forgo a traditional wedding cake in favor of a simple, elegant finale. Dessert featured a refreshing red-fruit, mint, and meringue composition — a modern take on a Tuscan summer sweet — served with a final toast of Amaro as guests raised their glasses to the newlyweds. The gesture was both understated and meaningful, marking the close of the dinner and the transition to the evening’s festivities. As the last plates were cleared, the couple led their guests up to Borgo Santo Pietro’s Treehouse Lounge, where candlelight gave way to starlight, cocktails, and live music — the perfect continuation of an evening built on celebration, beauty, and connection.

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]
Music was the heartbeat of the day — intentionally woven through each moment to reflect both Anita’s musical background and the couple’s shared love of timeless sound. The ceremony at San Galgano Abbey featured a full orchestra from Alma Project Italy, whose arrangements filled the open-air monastery with sweeping emotion. Guests were welcomed to the soft strains of strings before Anita’s entrance to “My Way” by Frank Sinatra, a sentimental nod to individuality and devotion — a melody that carried beautifully through the ancient stone arches. During the reception dinner at Borgo Santo Pietro, the mood transitioned into a warm, soulful rhythm with a curated mix of classics from Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin, and Ella Fitzgerald, played softly in the background as guests dined under candlelight. Later in the evening, DJ Oliver Blank and Australian saxophonist Ashley James transformed the treehouse lounge into an unforgettable after-hours celebration — a fusion of jazz, house, and live sax that pulsed beneath the Tuscan sky. The entire evening unfolded like a symphony, moving seamlessly from timeless romance to joyful celebration.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]
One of the most meaningful details of the evening was the wine box ceremony. Without Anita’s knowledge, one of Sam’s close friends secretly gathered handwritten letters from family and friends throughout the engagement. During the reception, the box — containing the notes and a bottle of aged Tuscan wine — was locked and sealed. The couple plans to open it on their 25th wedding anniversary, a timeless promise of enduring love, memory, and celebration to come.

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]
After dinner, guests were invited to Borgo Santo Pietro’s iconic Treehouse Lounge, which was illuminated by flickering candlelight and the occasional flash of distant lightning — a dramatic and cinematic finale to a Tuscan evening. Guests changed into glittering party dresses, cocktails flowed, and live sets from DJ Oliver Blank and Ashley James on saxophone kept the night alive until the early hours. It was sophisticated yet wildly fun — the perfect counterpoint to the ceremony’s serenity.

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]
Transforming the San Galgano Abbey into a concert hall was a once-in-a-lifetime moment. With Alma Project’s orchestra performing under the open sky, the experience felt otherworldly — as if sound itself was echoing through centuries of history. For Anita and Sam, both deeply connected to art and culture, this musical homage was more than a performance — it was a love letter to beauty, legacy, and the timeless power of music.
