An Effortless Desert Garden Celebration with Playful Golf-Inspired Details at Indian Wells Golf Resort

Set on the lawn of Indian Wells Golf Resort with the mountains as a backdrop, this wedding embraced a refined yet effortless design. Long wooden banquet tables and curved chairs anchored the reception, while round tables dressed in light neutral patterned linens introduced subtle texture. Crisp white florals and clusters of candles lined the tables, striking the balance between simplicity and romance. Overhead, a canopy of twinkle lights stretched across the lawn, casting a warm glow as the evening transitioned from golden hour into night. Every element of the day was designed to feel personal, playful, and unforgettable—guests were welcomed with a golf-themed seating chart, personalized golf balls, and custom temporary tattoos that tied back to the couple’s personality and love of the game. After an elegant dinner under the stars, the celebration carried into the pavilion, where In-N-Out burgers were served at 10 p.m., and the DJ and live saxophone kept the dance floor alive. Club Kula light sticks, custom trucker hats, and the most fun group of family and friends kept the party going until 1 am.

Our story starts where it didn’t, at The University of Iowa. For two years, Allie and I were brushing shoulders in Summit, Liner, Tini’s, etc., and miraculously managed to never meet. Against all odds, with having countless mutual friends paired with the fact that we were ballin’ on a budget at the same bars (shoutout Dollar U’s Tuesdays and Thursdays), we were never acquainted. Fast forward to 2018. Via our mutual Cary, IL connections, we ended up at the same Halloween party; naturally, I was dressed as Mermaid Man from Spongebob and she was dressed as Garth from Wayne’s World. She was the best-looking Garth I had ever seen, and after a few exchanged words and more than a few beers,s we both went our separate ways, seemingly never to see each other again. That was until a few weeks later when we bumped into each other at the legendary Trader Todd’s karaoke bar, ar where I sang “All Star” by Smash Mouth, and seemingly crushed it because after that we exchanged numbers and started talking. After talking for less than two days, I informed Allie that I was moving to Nashville, Tennessee, to start a new job for the next 1monthsh; the timing couldn’t have been worse. But like all good Rom-Coms, this story has a happy ending. We continued talking through the move, and on New Year’s Eve, with the push from some friends, we agreed that even though we were going to be long-distance, we wanted this to continue. Any distance was worth it for Allie. While apart,t we learned to time our visits so we never went more than a few weeks at a time without seeing each other. We learned a lot about each other in those 14 months, and when it was all said and done, I moved back to Chicago,o and we were together once again. Years went by, and as the heart grew fonder, so did the certainty of the future of our relationship; and that’s when I decided it was time to pop the question. On a beautiful day in April, I took Allie to Lincoln Park for a walk, as we previously pulled a date stick I had made from the jar to tour the Park. As we got to the bridge and the setting sun glistened on her face, I got on one knee and asked the question I had been waiting for since we first met, “Will You Marry Me?. Luckily, she said yes, and the rest is history.

Tyler Varnell (DJ, piano & sax): Music was one of our biggest priorities — Garrett and I both have such a deep love for it, and we knew we wanted our wedding to feel like one big celebration. Through the grapevine, we discovered Tyler Varnell, and we were immediately sold. Not only is he an incredible DJ and MC, but he also plays both the saxophone and piano — the ultimate all-in-one entertainer. Tyler was truly the highlight of our night. He performed live piano and sax during the ceremony, making it feel like a personal concert, and then completely transformed the reception into the best party we’ve ever had. By the end of the night, he told us he had never seen a dance floor so packed — and while we do have some amazing friends and family, his energy was the real reason no one left the floor. People are still talking about him to this day. Hiring him was hands down the best decision we made.

Golf has always been one of our favorite shared hobbies — since the day we met, we’ve loved traveling together to play new courses. It felt only natural to get married at a country club and one of our favorite courses in Palm Springs. We wanted to weave that part of our story into the design in a subtle, elevated way.

We created a custom seating chart, drink menus, and personalized golf balls as guest favors, which turned out even better than we imagined. The touches felt thoughtful and personal without being over-the-top — the perfect reflection of us as a couple.[/field]

Club Kula: Our venue had an indoor space perfect for an after-hours celebration, so we turned it into “Club Kula” — our own late-night party spot. We served In-N-Out, brought in DJ lighting, string lights, and another dance floor, and handed out custom trucker hats and LED light sticks with the “Club Kula” logo. Temporary Tattoos: I wanted to add something playful and unexpected to our reception, and stumbled upon a bride on TikTok who created a tattoo station for her guests. I instantly loved the idea and decided to make it our own. My friend and I designed a set of custom temporary tattoos that represented our relationship — little icons, sayings, and inside jokes. We set up a “tattoo station” during the reception, and it was an instant hit. By the end of the night, nearly everyone was tatted up, and the photos were hilarious. The Kula Chronicle (attached): Because our wedding was a destination celebration, we wanted to make our guests’ welcome bags feel extra special. I designed a custom newspaper called The Kula Chronicle — complete with our love story, weekend itinerary, fun facts, and photos. It was such a unique touch, and guests absolutely loved it. Seeing everyone post photos of themselves reading it on social media was one of my favorite moments of the weekend.

They also enjoyed passed appetizers of: Iberian ham’s shavings with coca de vidre and tomato Cured Salmon dice with dill mustard Prawn tartare with sichimi and seaweed bread Idiazabal toast with confit leek,praliné and a hint of lemon *Coca with anchovy, raspberry and basil *flat bread Steak tartare roll with smoked butter Foie micuit with fig marmalade and pistachios Our “patata brava” Asparagus tips with bacon and parmesano Duck gyoza with strawberry hoisin and black garlic Prawn breaded with kimchi mayonnaise Croquettes Chicken with manchego cheese and Shiitake with coconut Mollete with porcini, brie, spinach, and oregan oil For dinner guests were served: a starter of Burrata, fennel, candied pumpkin, baby spinach, and pumpkin seeds salad. a choice of: Filet with mashed potatos and Oporto sauce Sea bass “corvina” with creamy potatoes, mushrooms and roast juice Zucchini cannelloni stuffed with small vegetables with aromatic oil before the wedding cake, Passionfruit cream with coconut ice cream, raspberries, and mint sorbet was served as a palette cleanser Burgers and Pizza was served as a late night snack during the disco portion of the evening.

The Bride carried a bouquet of white orchids. Bridesmaids carried bouquets of white calla lilies. The ceremony’s floral design was designed to mimic a garden full of flowers. A variety of white flowers in lush greenery lined the aisle and surrounded the couple at the altar. Reception flowers were low and lush arrangements of white and green hydrangeas (the bride’s favorite!) designed to create an intimate atmosphere for guests to enjoy each other’s company during dinner.

The celebration took place at Villa Mangiacane, a breathtaking estate designed by Michelangelo over 500 years ago. With the rolling Tuscan hills as a backdrop and the golden Italian light pouring in, their vision came to life effortlessly. Inspired by the natural elegance of the countryside, they chose a refined palette of cream, white, and blush florals, paired with soft candlelight and thoughtful details that celebrated both intimacy and romance.

The gown’s dramatic flair made their first dance feel like a scene from a movie, twirling across the floor under the open sky. During dinner, Leticia changed into a sleek halter gown by Galia Lahav—an effortlessly chic silhouette that allowed her to move, dance, and celebrate the night in comfort and style. The satin fabric glowed softly under candlelight, and the open back and sculpted fit added a modern edge to her bridal look. It was the perfect contrast to the dramatic ball gown she wore earlier, showing off a second side of her bridal personality: relaxed, radiant, and ready to party.

The evening began with a beautiful cocktail hour featuring signature his-and-hers drinks: a spicy margarita for the bride and a gin basil gimlet for the groom. Guests sipped and mingled as the sun dipped behind the Tuscan hills, setting the tone for an evening filled with joy, elegance, and unforgettable flavor. Galateo Catering brought the culinary vision to life with a menu that was as refined as it was delicious. A curated selection of ten hors d’oeuvres was passed around, each a small masterpiece. Guests delighted in brioches with rosemary paté, smoked salmon blinis, warm bignet mignon with truffle and cheese, and mini quiches with Greek feta, olives, and rosemary. If there’s ever a time that you don’t want to be bogged down with questions… it’s while you’re planning your wedding. But chances are, you’re going to have a handful of guests checking in with you. Do your best to avoid every guest (and their mama) calling and texting you by providing this info clearly for them. Keep reading for some of the most common questions guests ask and how to handle them!

Can I bring my kids?

This can be such a tough one! Where do you draw the line? Do you feel OK having close family children in attendance (hello adorable flower girl and ring bearer!) but you’d rather not have all of your friends with their little one’s in tow? 9 times of out 10 most guests with kiddos prefer to leave them at home so they can fully enjoy the evening. When it comes down to it, this is your Big Day and you can do what you want, but be prepared for some guests to spring this question on you.

While the obvious solution is to put ‘no kids’ on your wedding invitation, it might not be the vibe your hoping to send when your guests open up that envelope. Here are a couple other ways to say no kiddos allowed:

The way you address is your invitations is a subtle way to get this point across. Address the invite to the adults only, rather than “The Smith Family”. This leaves room for questioning still, so take it a step further with the approach below.

Another option is to include a wedding website link with more details, where you can address that this event is for big kids only. Some positive ways to word it:

“We look forward to celebrating with you! Kick your shoes off and enjoy a relaxing kid-free evening with us.”

“To give all our guests the opportunity to let their hair down and have a good time without having to worry about little eyes and ears, we politely request no children.”

Ceremony Only: “Children are welcome to the ceremony, however to allow all of our guests to enjoy an evening of relaxation, we politely request adult attendance only.”

Can I bring my new bae?

You already had to cut down your guest list and shave off Aunt Suzy and Cousin Jon… but now your college girlfriend wants to bring her new bae—who you’ve never met before? Yikes. While you want each invited guest to have a great time, plus ones can get out of hand if you’ve got a lot of single ladies and gents in attendance.

Just like the no kids announcement, a wedding website is a great place to house this info. If you’d rather not have complete strangers witness your I dos, make sure this is clear.

If you are OK with it, simply address with “& guest”!

What should I wear?

First, get familiar with traditional wedding attire wording for invites. Our friends at Shutterfly have a great rundown:

Your wedding website is also a great place to put this info! This is especially helpful if your guests will have ample time to themselves before and after wedding events such as a rehearsal or welcome dinner or a farewell brunch.

Extra Steps

Lastly, if you’d rather not be the go-to for guest questions, kindly ask a member of your bridal party if they can help by being the point of contact and if they are OK with you putting their email or phone on your wedding website.

If you do prefer to be the contact, you can also simply list your email only rather than your phone number, which will deter guests from calling or texting you randomly when you’re in the middle of a dress fitting or a cake tasting. No one likes to be interrupted when they’re eating cake!

Jessie shares their romantic proposal story: “Ben proposed to me on the 17th November 2023 at Claridges Hotel in London (an iconic London landmark and one of my bucket list hotels!) It was very low-key, which is what I wanted, seeing that we are both shy and hate attention! We originally had booked to stay at another hotel in Canterbury, but Ben called me a couple of weeks before asking what I thought about staying at Claridges instead, as it was getting close to the festive season, which is the best time of year to see Claridges, plus I had always wanted to stay at Claridges. Of course,e I said yes! He picked me up from work and drove us into London. He is usually quiet; however, looking back, he was way quieter than usual! We had a lovely dinner, but again, looking back, Ben didn’t finish his meal, which is unheard of… I now know why! We went back up to our room after dinner,r and the next moment, Ben was down on one knee. After I said YES, we spent the next couple of hours calling our friends and family to share the wonderful news with them. We spent the following morning in London before going home to my parents, where a small surprise celebration had been planned. It was a wonderful, surreal,l and magical weekend.”

I felt the dress had enough detail without being too much; the lace on the train and the train itself were my favourite parts. My evening/party dress was from Meshki’s bridal collection. I knew that I wanted something completely different from my daytime gown. I ordered about six different evening options, and again, I knew instantly that once I tried on this dress, it was the one. I loved the sparkle and halter neck, completely opposing the wedding dress. “

The exact style of dress I wanted was there! Myself and my bridesmaids went to their showroom and each one of my girls looked amazing in the dress. Followed by three-coursese candlelit meal served in the ballroom. Starter: Mushroom Tempura crispy shredded mushroom tempura with nahm jim dressing. Main: Beef Fillet, double potatoes, green asparagus, mushroom purée, truffle juice.s Dessert: Oven Baked Blueberry Cheesecake mix berry compote. Guests were then served Beef sliders, Chicken Slides, and Fish & Chips whilst partying away on the dance floor!

Each rose was carefully reflected to add a luxurious, modern finish. These were styled alongside mophead hydrangeas, elegant white delphiniums, ruffled peonies, and trailing white amaranthus to achieve a graceful, draping effect. In total, more than 5,000 stems were used to create their floral design.”

One of the best parts about having a wedding in Italy is, of course, the food. We had classic Italian dishes throughout the night, from beautiful meats and cheeses to fresh pastas, panzanella salad, and Florentine steak. We also had two signature cocktails that made the night feel even more personal. The Hughie Spritz was a Hugo Spritz inspired by our golden retriever, and the Double O Seven was a dirty martini, which is Oleg’s favorite, and a little nod to both of our names starting with O.

We had the most stunning arrangements outside the church in shades of pink and lilac with soft hints of green, which set the tone perfectly. For the overhead decor, we kept it whimsical with fairy lights strung around the entire outdoor reception area. It created such a romantic and magical atmosphere once the sun went down.[/field]

An Intimate Week-Long French Château Celebration at Château de Jalesnes

The wedding event spanned several days, but for the main event, the guests enjoyed traditional French cuisine during a candlelit dinner in the chateau’s formal dining room. As foodies, the menu was very important, as was being able to cater to something that could be enjoyed by all of their guests.

Florals leaned toward organic arrangements in whites and greens, echoing the château’s gardens. Custom paper goods, monogrammed signage, and hundreds of glowing candles created a warm, romantic atmosphere.

Guests were welcomed to the château by the enchanting sounds of harpist François Pernel, who performed throughout the arrival, ceremony, and cocktail hour. Later in the evening, a DJ took over and kept the dance floor full until late into the night.

At cocktail hour, each guest was greeted with a glass of Prosecco and a selection of hot and cold canapés. Dinner was a delicious five-course menu, including one starter, one soup, a choice of two main courses, a silent vegetarian main course option, one dessert, tea or coffee, and petit fours. Evening snacks included fish and chip cones, miniature beef sliders, bacon butties, crusty ciabatta bread, vegetable spring rolls, and freshly brewed coffee and tea. The drinks flowed throughout the night, with the bar serving a variety of beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages.

The Rosehip and Berry florist, Hollie, created a stunning scene for both the ceremony and the reception. The couple was surrounded by flowers on the steps leading to the library. The scene evoked a lush garden in the countryside. The flowers complemented the vine-draped castle walls as the wisteria turned stunning shades of crimson, amber, and gold. The reception tablescape and florals were inspired by an autumnal harvest in a still life painting. Something that would inspire the work of the Dutch Masters. Lush flowers and fruit adorned the tables, with linens that were reminiscent of a tapestry you might see hanging in one of the castle’s rooms. Playing on the Georgian and Baroque elements of the ballroom, we continued to pull inspiration from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, which was set in the Georgian Era. The décor accentuated the refined opulence of the venue while also being warm and inviting.

The wedding cake was almost too beautiful to eat. The couple chose flavors of “Luscious Lemon” – a tangy lemon-flavoured cake layered with homemade lemon curd and fresh lemon zest buttercream frosting, and “Queen Victoria” – a soft vanilla sponge cake layered with homemade strawberry jam and Madagascan vanilla bean buttercream frosting. The two-tiered work of art was decorated with lightly textured white fondant and floral bas-relief decorations, as well as incredibly realistic sugar flowers and foliage that adorned the cake. All of it came together to create a piece that blew the couple and their guests away.

Traditional Irish music was played before and after the ceremony by an amazingly talented harpist. The bride walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of “I can’t help falling in love with you. The reception was lively with a mix of Irish trad and more contemporary music. The musicians continued to keep energy high and people out on the dance floor as they led the guests in Irish céilí dancing. Céilí dancing is the native group dancing of Ireland and is danced to traditional Irish music. The couple and their guests absolutely loved dancing the night away to the reels and jigs.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]During the part of the ceremony in which the bride and groom were exchanging their vows, the clouds parted just enough so that a beam of sunlight came down and illuminated the couple. “We like to think that it was a message from our loved ones who have passed away, making sure that we knew they were there with us.”[/field]

The bride and groom wanted to incorporate the Cladto their wedding bands. The design holds great significance for the couple and serves as a nod to the bride’s Irish heritage and family traditions. At the centre of the Claddagh design is a heart, symbolising love. This heart is held by two hands, representing friendship, while the crown atop the heart stands for loyalty. Together, these three elements form a powerful message of commitment and enduring affection. An emblem of love, loyalty, and friendship. The bride’s custom wedding band was hand-engraved with Daffodils and Morning Glories (the couple’s birth flowers) and an image of the Claddagh. The vines of the Morning Glories intertwine with the Daffodils, signifying growth and unity as they both reach the Claddagh symbol at the top of the ring. The design symbolizes the couple’s relationship and their commitment as they continue to grow together in friendship, loyalty, and love. The groom’s wedding band was made in Galway, Ireland and was designed to incorporate the emblem of the Claddagh with a Celtic weave pattern design.

A Joy-Filled Wedding Defined by Timeless Elegance and Thoughtful Personal Details

Kyle and Anna wanted the joy they share in their relationship to overflow on their wedding day. Their eager excitement and anticipation set the tone for a truly celebratory and joyful atmosphere. The vision for the event was classic and timeless, brought to life through elegant details and personal touches. One of those touches, their custom wedding monogram, was thoughtfully incorporated throughout the venue: on the dance floor, the outdoor 360-degree bar, the ballroom bar, koozies, napkins, cups, and even the matches. Anna’s favorite flowers, hydrangeas and peonies, took center stage in the floral design. The bride and her bridal party carried simple, elegant bouquets of all-white peonies, while blue and white hydrangeas beautifully adorned the altar, lined the aisle, filled the ballroom, and flanked the band’s stage.

After almost three years of dating, Kyle knew it was time to seal the deal with the love of his life! He arranged for a proposal on September 27, 2024, in Frisco, Texas, with a staged work dinner to convince Anna to wear a dress and get her hair and nails done. After pulling off into a nearby park where blue and white hydrangeas were waiting, Anna quickly knew what was soon to come. As tears flowed, Anna gave Kyle a resounding YES to make Kyle the luckiest man in the world!

Envisioning herself in a sweetheart neckline for her big day, she had the original Anne Barge bodice modified to reflect that timeless silhouette. To complete the look, she wore a delicate lace bolero by Caroline Castigliano, which added a romantic touch during the ceremony and the early moments of the reception.

Cocktail hour featured caprese skewers, mini chicken and waffles, potato skins, and charming charcuterie cones. Dinner was a fresh yet classic affair with crisp Caesar salad and citrus-grilled chicken, paired with lemon parmesan green beans and creamy mashed potatoes. To toast the evening, the bride’s signature tequila mojito and the groom’s bold black Manhattan made for a perfectly personal pairing!

As guests entered through the front doors, they were welcomed by cascading arrangements of hydrangeas and peonies flowing down the staircase, along with a grand floral installation at the center of the entryway. The ceremony space continued the floral story, with arrangements lining the aisle and two large, manicured hydrangea displays flanking the cross at the altar — creating a breathtaking backdrop for the vows.[/field]

The wedding cake, created by Panini Bakery in Dallas, Texas, was a stunning five-tier toasted almond confection. Adorned with intricate buttercream piping inspired by the lace detailing in the bride’s veil and dress topper, the design beautifully tied in elements of Anna’s bridal look. A classic porcelain bride and groom figurine topped the cake, surrounded by delicate blue hydrangeas tied into the wedding’s floral palette and timeless charm.

While Anna has a well-known sweet tooth, Kyle isn’t much of a cake lover – but he is a devoted fan of Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream. Wanting to incorporate his favorite treat into the celebration, Anna surprised him with a custom cake designed to look just like a tub of Blue Bell, accompanied by a silver bowl filled with the real thing. It was a playful and heartfelt moment that perfectly reflected their personalities.

A Three-Day Moroccan Dream of Garden Romance & Culture in Marrakech at Beldi Country Club

Clementine & Franck’s Magical Marrakech Celebration From the cosmopolitan streets of Geneva to the enchanting landscapes of Morocco, Clementine and Franck invited 200 of their closest family and friends to celebrate their love most unforgettably: a three-day wedding experience in Marrakech. Set against the lush and iconic gardens of Hotel Beldi, the festivities unfolded in a setting that was nothing short of a dream. Surrounded by flourishing greenery and an abundance of white roses designed by Le Kiosque à Fleurs, the ceremony space radiated natural elegance. Guests, dressed in a kaleidoscope of colors that beautifully echoed the vibrant blooms of the gardens, carried delicate white parasols to shield themselves from the Moroccan sun. What made this celebration truly special was the intimate spirit fostered by having all 200 guests stay at the hotel. From leisurely breakfasts to afternoons by the spectacular pool crowned with its traditional turret, every moment built a sense of togetherness. Thoughtful welcome gifts awaited each guest—sun hats, t-shirts, fans, and more—setting the tone for days filled with warmth, laughter, and connection. The culinary experience was equally memorable: long garden lunches with authentic Moroccan dishes that carried everyone on a journey through the country’s rich flavors. The desert soirée was an extraordinary highlight. Guests were transported to a magical world where traditional Moroccan musicians filled the night with sound, fire-lit ovens served fragrant dishes, and dancers and fortune tellers brought an atmosphere of wonder. Clementine and Franck made their grand entrance in true Moroccan style, carried high above the crowd on beautifully adorned platforms—a breathtaking moment that ignited the party spirit. On the wedding day itself, emotions ran high. Franck was visibly moved, while Clementine radiated beauty in her gown, holding an organic bouquet of greenery and olive branches. The celebration flowed seamlessly from a heartfelt ceremony—led by Micky Ceremony—to a lively cocktail hour where even monkeys and snakes made an appearance, delighting guests. The evening reception was pure joy. A live performance by Fomo had everyone dancing non-stop, with speeches that touched the heart in between courses of exquisite Moroccan cuisine. Guests were spoiled with thoughtful details: silk scarves and sandals for the ladies, cigars for the gentlemen. The towering wedding cake, adorned with sparklers, was cut with a traditional yatagan sword—a spectacular finale that had everyone cheering in celebration. Every detail, perfectly orchestrated by Soirées CafeDelux Events, reflected the couple’s vision: a celebration of love, family, culture, and joy.

Later, refreshing fruit ice pops offered a playful pause from the heat, and champagne flowed freely as the night deepened. Rooted in authenticity and abundance, the food and drinks became more than a meal—they were an invitation to linger, connect, and experience Marrakesh through taste, texture, and ritual.

A Southern Destination Wedding Filled with Lowcountry Romance, Family Tradition, and Oscar de la Renta

Although her family is from Chicago, Amanda’s folks recently purchased a home in Seabrook, so they decided to host a destination wedding for their loved ones in the place that has become their new home: theLow Countryy. The bride, being their only daughter of five children, theGarvyss were able to host an affair that spoke to their family. They hosted the rehearsal at dinner at the Seabrook Island Club and welcome party at Mingo Point, where the sunset over the marsh asguestst enjoyed a crawfish boil. Amanda got dressed at home before doing a first look with her four brothers at the church where she would marry the love of her life (an only child to boot!). She and Kyle took the trolley to the Ocean Course to take portraits and enjoy cocktail hour before welcoming guests in with a balcony champagne pop and second line into their tented affair. It was nearly impossible to drag her and her mom (a once professional cheerleader) off the band stage! A night of southern romance and family charm made this one even the gators will remember.
