Our vision for the wedding: My vision for our wedding has always been inspired by the sunny, rustic beauty of the Tuscany landscape. I’ve loved the idea of capturing that warm, charming atmosphere—something timeless and enchanting. As we searched for the perfect setting, we unexpectedly came across Sunstone Villa on social media and immediately reached out to book a visit. When we saw it in person, the view exceeded all expectations. The vineyard, with its lush greenery and rolling hills, reminded us of Tuscany itself. The limestone walls and wooden beams of the villa evoked that same rustic elegance, and we knew instantly that this was the one. It felt like Tuscany had been brought right here to us, and we couldn’t imagine a more perfect place to celebrate our special day. For the florals, I envisioned lots of fuchsia because its bold, lively hue beautifully contrasts with the natural greens and earthy tones of the setting, making everything feel bright, fresh, and full of energy. I also wanted to incorporate fresh fruits into the tablescapes to add colorful accents that evoke abundance and warmth, much like the rustic Italian countryside. To bring a real touch of Italy to the celebration, we planned to include classic elements like a gelato cart for authentic sweetness and a pizza snack station to foster a fun, communal atmosphere. Overall, our goal is to create a celebration that feels lush, welcoming, and infused with the vibrant spirit of Italy.

From the bride: Our proposal: Justin proposed to me in Southampton, on the sands of Cooper’s Beach—a moment I will always cherish. He spent the entire day carefully planning and arranging nearly two thousand red roses into a large heart on the shore, surrounded by flickering candles that cast a warm, enchanting glow. As the sun dipped lower, painting the sky in shades of gold, he took my hands and led me along the beach. As we were walking, the breathtaking scene slowly unfolded before us—a giant heart of roses against the endless ocean, with seagulls soaring overhead. When we reached the center of the roses, he knelt down and presented me with a ring. I couldn’t help but tear up before he even asked—despite knowing this moment was coming, the emotion was so real and overwhelming. Justin was also tearing up as he asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes, and we shared a kiss. In that moment, we both felt an overwhelming happiness, grateful to have made this lifelong commitment to each other. Later that evening, our friends told us dolphins had been jumping out of the water right when Justin proposed, adding an extra touch of magic to an already unforgettable moment. That day, surrounded by the beauty of nature and love, I knew I had found my forever. This memory will stay with me always — a perfect moment that encapsulates our love and our future ahead.

The food for the weekend was prepared by a local Michelin guide restaurant. They tailored the experience the night before to the couple’s favorite pasta dish and a nod to the Tuscan vibes of the venue. The wedding day was fish and beef paired with some of their favorite seasonal and locally sourced sides. They had gelato brought in as a cocktail hour special and served late-night pizza in the pizza oven on site.

The blooms were thoughtfully arranged in airy compositions that felt organic yet polished, perfectly balancing formality with a sense of natural ease.
Crystal glassware, gold flatware, and tall taper candles in glass cylinders added dimension and glow, while soft linens and sculpted dinnerware enhanced the ethereal atmosphere. Against the sweeping mountain backdrop, the florals appeared to float in the light – an unforgettable tablescape that celebrated the harmony between elegance and nature’s vivid abundance.[/field]

An Ethereal, Heritage-Inspired Garden Celebration at The Bradford

“Our planner from The Gathering Co. and I really wanted something ethereal and whimsical while still keeping it subtle and elegant,” shares Hewan. The vision was to create a celebration that felt soft and romantic but deeply intentional. One that highlighted family, heritage, and the natural beauty of The Bradford’s European-inspired gardens. Layers of eucalyptus, cream, and copper wove through the day, blending seamlessly with the venue’s stone architecture and lush greenery. Once Gathered brought that dream to life through organic floral compositions that felt as if they were growing right out of the grounds.

Rocky Top Catering curated a menu that was as meaningful as it was delicious, merging Myles’s North Carolina roots with Hewan’s Ethiopian culture. Guests savored smoked beef brisket with Eastern NC barbecue sauce alongside traditional Ethiopian dishes like injera, shiro wot, gomen, fossolia, and azifa. Signature cocktails, “Myles’s Mai Tai” and “Hewan’s Aloha Marg”, gave a tropical nod to their adventures together and Hewan’s life in Hawaii, perfectly capturing their joyful, travel-loving spirits.

Once Gathered’s floral artistry embraced lush greenery and airy cream blooms that floated across the tables, accented by copper tones to echo the bridesmaids’ dresses and sunset light. The tablescapes came alive with rentals from Curated Events Raleigh, statement pieces from Greenhouse Picker Sisters, and custom signage by Let’s Revel, each layer adding to the organic beauty and intentional design of the day.[/field]

Music was woven thoughtfully through every moment of the day. The ceremony began with “Young & Beautiful” by Lana Del Rey and seamlessly transitioned as Hewan walked down the aisle to Beyoncé’s “Halo,” a powerful, emotional choice. The recessional, “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles, filled the air with optimism and light. Throughout the day, the couple celebrated Black artistry by curating a soundtrack that included Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are,” “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia Keys, “There Goes My Baby” by Usher, “Love on Top” by Beyoncé, and “Closer” by Ne-Yo. Each song reflected joy, love, and the rich diversity they wanted to highlight on their special day.

One of the evening’s most electric moments came when Hewan and Myles joined in the traditional Ethiopian wedding dance. The rhythmic beats and vibrant energy filled the room as family and friends surrounded them, clapping and cheering. An Enchanted Garden Wedding Under the Stars at Chikaming Country Club

The colors for this incredible day were a mixture of blue and purple tones, both dark and light, and a splash of white and pink throughout the bouquets and floral arrangements.

The couple’s vision for their wedding day was an Enchanted Garden. They wanted to walk into the space and be surrounded by color, tons of beautiful florals, and personalized touches that really spoke to who they are and what they love. A custom monogram was created and implemented throughout the design, and sprinkles of their dog, Ziggy, appeared on personalized items, such as the napkins and signature drinks. Merry Me took the couple’s vision and created a real-life fairytale, complete with stunning floral designs, custom bars and seating chart, gorgeous linens, beautiful ceremony arch, and so much more. To bring this gorgeous garden feel inside, a stunning, black-framed atrium tent was constructed on the grounds of Chikaming County Club. Blue Peak Tents created a space where the guests were able to be indoors for dinner and dancing, yet retain that immersive outdoor garden feel. The guests were able to dance the night away under the stars since all the sides, including the roof, were clear.

After four years together, Chris surprised Brooks on one knee in the Caribbean island of Dominica. Chris had asked for Brooks’s dad’s blessing months before, and it was extra special to enjoy the ring and the moment after her dad’s passing. Such a beautiful and sweet island surprise.

Going into the wedding dress shopping was quite the process for the bride, as she had a completely different look in mind when she first started. As soon as she got to Dimitras, she fell in love with the first dress she tried on. She felt it went perfectly with the garden princess vibe of our wedding. She did try on a few other dresses afterwards, but kept on coming back to that first one. She loved the lace detailing and the removable sleeves, which made it all the more special. You only wear a wedding dress once, so she wanted it to be elaborate and unique.

As for the bridesmaids’ dresses, purple has always been the bride’s favorite color. She knew immediately that she wanted a lavender look for the garden party vibe. She also really wanted her bridesmaids to be able to pick a dress that they loved and felt comfortable in. She had seen weddings where bridesmaids wore all different dresses within a similar color scheme, and that immediately became her inspiration. Bride quote: “It was so fun to see what the girls all came up with and to see the dresses all together for the first time on the wedding day!”

The goat cheese fritters and truffle shrimp skewer appetizers had all the guests grinning from ear to ear as they enjoyed cocktail hour on the patio of the club. The custom monogram bars served Chris and Brooks’ signature drinks. Each is named after the other, including their adorable dog, Ziggy. All three of the drinks could be made into a mocktail, which was a special treat for their guests. Dinner started with a kale Caesar salad and consisted of a juicy filet, wild-caught salmon, ora yummy vegetarian alternative. The Yukon potatoes were a crowd pleaser for sure and were paired with fresh asparagus.

The florals and decor were essential in creating the enchanted garden that the couple dreamed of. Starting with the ceremony, guests were immediately greeted by the custom welcome sign as they entered the space. Rows and rows of floral arrangements led up to the beautiful ceremony arch that Merry Me had made. The combination of the beautiful golf course, tall trees, and colorful flowers turned this ceremony into a fairytale garden. As guests moved into cocktail hour, each decor element immersed the guests in Chris and Brooks’ fairytale garden. The handcrafted shiplap escort wall, complete with floral boxes, and the custom monogram, which appeared on the bars, escort wall, dance floor,r and invitations, showed how dedicated this couple was in creating a unified theme throughout their day. After walking up the wooden steps into the atrium tent, you were immediately greeted by the large floral ring andlanterns hanging from the tent ceiling. The whole dance floor was wrapped in lavender and white squares, with Brooks and Chris’ monogram in the center. Each table adorn unique linens and flatware. The wicker chairs and matching chargers were a great way to incorporate that woodsy feel without overpowering the table with darker tones. The centerpieces consisted of tall, glass arrangements or small floral bunches, kept in ornate, white vases that reminded me of a country garden. Each design, including the bouquets, had an arrangement of garden roses, delphinium, hydrangeas, butterfly ranunculus, alliums, roses, and anemones.

Black Currant Bakery created the most elegant cake for Brooks and Chris. This 5-layer cake was frosted in a wave pattern, giving the cake movement and depth. Florals were added to elevate the look and bring pops of color to this stunning white cake. Black Currant also provided the signature donuts at the reception. These are the bride’s absolute favorite donuts, so Merry Me constructed a donut wall to display them and add to the fun of the decor. Later on in the evening, Beaver’s Donut Truck arrived, serving adorable donut holes in to-go bags so guests could take them home. However, the majority of the donut holes were found on the dance floor as guests rocked out to Blue Water Kings, donut in hand.

Hallie, with Abundance Wedding Painter,r created a stunning painting of Chris and Brooks, kissing at the ceremony. The couple was blown away by the detail and couldn’t wait to show it off to their guests.

The bride’s wedding band was particularly special for this day. From the bride: “The wedding band was the band my dad gave to my mom for their 10th anniversary. After my dad’s death, my mom surprised me by saying she wanted me to have the ring she had worn for so long, since I’m the only daughter. Chris and I were so honored that she wanted it to be a part of our ceremony and life together. And we will always cherish it knowing that my dad picked it out.”

When it came time for sunset photos, the couple wanted photos both on the golf course and at the beach. The couple was able to travel in style thanks to the Studebaker Museum, which provided a vintage Studebaker car for the occasion. The classic black color and style matched Chris’s slick tuxedo. The contrast created by Brooks’ white gown resulted in every image looking like they just walked off a Hollywood movie set. Brooks’ family home is nestled right on Lake Michigan. Brooks has so many happy memories of spending countless days at the beach with her whole family, including her father, who had passed away. Being able to take photos on the beach that meant so much to Dadra was one of the highlights of the day. It was almost kismet that the clouds turned blueish-purple, their exact wedding colors. Brooks knew that that was her dad, smiling down on her. It just doesn’t get any better than that.

A Florida Takes New England Garden Wedding in a Beloved Grandmother’s Backyard

Centering their celebration around a beloved grandmother’s backyard, Sydney and Julian’s wedding checked every box on their dream list — with a perfectly curated aesthetic lovingly worthy of the title “Florida-does-New-England-Grandmother.” The couple had two non-negotiables: to be married in a chapel with a Catholic ceremony and to host their reception in Sydney’s grandmother’s backyard. Her grandmother’s waterfront yard provided a scenic backdrop, and the outdoor tent became a central design moment. It featured intricate ceiling decor, ruffled fabric, and free-flowing floral installations that took considerable planning and engineering to bring to life.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Sydney and Julian credit the modern magic of online dating for bringing them together. At a time when social distancing made an extra hurdle for meeting people, their connection was instant. While Julian worked night shifts and Sydney pursued her undergraduate degree, it quickly became clear they were two halves of a perfect whole. Their early days were marked by joyful adventures: apple picking, painting classes, and growing close to each other’s families. These shared experiences wove their lives together, filling their relationship with support, laughter, and a deepening love. Julian proposed in late fall, beneath the glow of a Key West sunset. As sailboats drifted by and tourists cheered from the shore, Sydney’s heart swelled with joy — she said “yes!”[/field]

For cocktail hour, we incorporated custom pink and green toile fabric featuring elements of our wedding day, adorned the bars with palm fronds, and added playful details like barrel matches and flag straws printed with our H logo. For the reception, we embraced the theme of ‘Lowcountry Creek meets Palm Beach Chic,’ where the soft hues of light pinks and lush greens were complemented by textured palms, cascading florals, and rich greenery. Inspired by the charm of Pawleys Island and the elegance of Palm Beach, each table featured special details—from artisanal touches in the place settings to subtle accents woven into the bouquets and centerpieces. The evening came alive with sparkling fireworks, creating a magical finale that perfectly reflected the romance and whimsy of the day.

We got engaged on our third dating anniversary at our favorite spot, the Sea View Inn—a charming bed and breakfast owned by my family—surrounded by our closest family and friends. He brought me out to the beach and proposed on the deck with the ocean behind us, making the moment absolutely magical. My best college friends even flew in to celebrate, and it was also my 25th birthday that weekend! Custom ‘H’ flags adorned the tent, and a shell ice sculpture graced the sushi station. Guests were seated by the dance floor on plush pink velvet chairs that perfectly echoed the bridesmaids’ fabric, tying together the textures, colors, and overall romantic aesthetic of the celebration.

A Love That Weathered the Storm and Bloomed Along the River at The Dunlin

Rebekah and Benjamin originally planned to wed at The Biltmore, but after Hurricane Helene devastated the Asheville area, they were forced to pivot. With only three weeks until the big day, their planner worked tirelessly to redesign the wedding and redirect the vendors to South Carolina, as well as having to bring aboard a few new vendors on board, given the devastation of the hurricane and the new location. They discovered the newly-completed Dunlin on Johns Island, which ended up being the perfect alternative. “The venue was so stunning that we barely had to do anything in terms of decor, but what we did add transformed it into exactly what we had dreamed of,” they shared. Accented by a southern sunset along the river and framed by dramatic veils of Spanish moss, the charm of their new venue came to life.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]While attending virtual classes during COVID, Rebekah first met Benjamin through their shared law school program. After sending him a message on Zoom to join a study group, the two became friends. Ben thought Rebekah was too serious about school, and Rebekah thought Ben was too chaotic. As they later remarked, “We were both right.” A year passed before something simply clicked, and their friendship turned into a relationship. Two years later, Ben proposed, catching Rebekah completely off guard. While visiting a so-called “castle” in South Carolina, he suggested she change her outfit to something nicer. Rebekah refused, slightly annoyed, and remained so as they walked the grounds. Following his request to check out the garden and then the well, she rolled her eyes and joked, “Wow, it’s a well, cool,” only to turn and see Benjamin pulling out a ring. “It was the greatest moment, and exactly what I wanted it to be,” she reflected.[/field]

A Postcard-Perfect Love Story Brought to Life on the Shores of Rehoboth Beach

The paper set the tone with hues of blue and pink, a nod to my mom’s love of fine yet playful stationery. Cheree Berry designed our save-the-date postcard that doubled as a tribute to the years Grant and I spent long-distance, sending postcards back and forth between DC and Colorado. They took that inspiration forward to our Rehoboth-inspired invitations and day-of details, even creating an “M&G” monogram that was seen throughout our paper portfolio. Day of, menus doubled as custom place cards, adding a personal touch at every seat and signalling our love of trying a new restaurant.

For our coastal wedding, we chose Rehoboth Beach, where my family has a home (the bride). We recreated the iconic Funland’s ticket booth as a way for guests to find their tables. The table numbers were rides/ attractions at Funland, like the sea dragon and skeeball. And while our dog Denali wasn’t invited in person, he was there in spirit with his own Orange Crush cocktail, images on the bar and cocktail napkins, and even had a seat of honor on top of the cake.

In March 2024, on a sunny weekday between conference calls, Grant asked if I’d join him for a walk. I should have known something was up—he was recreating our second date: coffee from Big Bear followed by a stroll through Crispus Attucks Park. As a pandemic couple, our early dates were all outdoors, each one longer than the last. On that second date, I was impressed—and a little miffed—that Grant showed me, a native Washingtonian, a hidden park I’d never discovered. Since then, he’s kept surprising me with adventures—none greater than dropping to one knee in that same park, pretending to tie his shoe but really proposing. The ring made it even more meaningful. In my family, it’s tradition for the father of the bride and groom-to-be to design it together. They honored that by blending my family heirloom stones with those Grant had chosen, creating a piece that symbolized not just our engagement but the joining of our families. We celebrated that weekend in true DC foodie fashion all over our home neighborhood of Shaw: dinner at Causa in Blagden Alley, martinis at All Souls (our favorite bar and where we later took engagement photos), and finally a surprise gathering of family and friends at Right Proper, where we had our first date. Supporting local establishments has always been part of our story, so it felt perfect to toast this new chapter at places that felt like home.

I wore Peter Langner’s 2013 “Waking Up” gown, a dress I had first chosen with my mom years ago for my debutante down in Houston. A set of happy memories in that dress with some family members who have now passed away; it felt only right to wear it again on my wedding day. Perfect for spring, its stitched flowers echoed the hydrangeas we chose as our wedding flowers. I paired it with my mom’s veil, her sapphire and diamond jewelry from DC’s Boone and Sons that accompanied my rings that had the same stones, and my something new (and blue!)—Manolo Blahnik flats. To Grant’s credit, he wore a timeless Brooks Brothers white dinner jacket, paired with cufflinks and studs that belonged to my great-grandfather. His ring, a simple gold band, was engraved with “One ring to rule them all” as a nod to his love of The Lord of the Rings.

As lovers of a good dinner party, and even more so a great cocktail, food and drink were central to the celebration. On Friday night, we gathered our nearest and dearest at the famed Back Porch Cafe. A Bentsen family special for birthdays and other celebrations, there was nowhere else to hold our intimate rehearsal dinner. A welcome party on the boardwalk followed at Above the Dunes with live music and drinks aplenty. For the wedding itself, we couldn’t imagine a beach-town celebration without seafood. Cocktail hour featured sushi as a nod to Grant’s childhood in Japan, while the bar poured beers from some of our favorite places around the world—including Dogfish Head from Rehoboth and Right Proper, where we had our first date. We couldn’t forget beloved family Labrador Denali, who not only appeared as a cake topper, in speeches, as a drink stirrer, and on cocktail napkins, but had his own signature cocktail “Denali’s Delaware Orange Crush.” Grant’s “Frozen Mere-garita” and my own “Kir Royale,” a nod to my love of France, joined Denali at the bar. Continuing my love of French cuisine, we served Sancerre as the table wine, alongside guests’ choice of crab cakes or filet. Cake from Pasqualini’s (a local favorite), late-night breakfast tacos (an homage to Texan roots), and ice cream cones fueled the dance floor.

Hospitality has always been at the center of my family’s story. My parents believed every gathering should feel joyful and welcoming, with creative details that made guests feel special. My sister and I grew up not just attending those parties, but also co-hosting them by their side—a legacy that Grant and I wanted to carry into our wedding and our life together. We envisioned the day as one big waterfront dinner party, just with more guests than usual. Our goal was simple: to make friends and family feel like they’d been invited into our home—personal, colorful, and full of warmth, food, and drink. And then there was Rehoboth itself, the backdrop to it all. My family has been going for decades, ever since my dad’s days as a young Hill staffer, and I took my first steps on its sand at two years old. To honor those summers, we created a Funland-inspired escort card display and named tables after the rides. Perhaps my favorite part was our “Rehoboth Guidebook,” beautiful linen books that came with each invitation, including wedding details and our favorite Rehoboth haunts that guests should try during the weekend. Against all odds, the rain cleared, leaving us with a perfect early summer evening—a fitting reminder of everything we hoped the day would be. Hydrangeas—my dad’s favorite and a summer staple in Rehoboth—were everywhere: in my bouquet, at the ceremony, cascading through the tent, and even on the cake. Rendered in soft pastels with complementary blooms, Sophie Felts created a look that was elegant yet effortless.

The first event took place in a lush garden, where a traditional Hindu ceremony unfolded amidst gorgeous florals and vibrant greenery. The atmosphere was filled with rich cultural traditions and spiritual energy, creating an immersive experience for everyone, especially for those experiencing an Indian wedding for the first time. Following the ceremony, the celebration moved to a stunning rooftop venue, offering breathtaking views of three majestic volcanoes. The vibe here was relaxed and welcoming, akin to a festive welcome party, allowing guests to unwind and enjoy the evening with lively music and mingling under the stars. Western Ceremony (Old Cathedral Ruins, Santa Clara) The second day featured a traditional Western ceremony in the breathtaking setting of an old cathedral ruin. The ceremony was an ode to classic love, marked by the awe-inspiring backdrop and the sacredness of the vows exchanged. After the ceremony, guests went to Villa Bokeh for a black-tie optional reception under a stunning tent. The villa’s sweeping views of a volcano set the stage for an elegant and romantic evening. The tented reception was adorned with sophisticated décor, creating an enchanting atmosphere where love, laughter, and celebration flowed effortlessly. It was an evening of fine dining, dancing, and unforgettable memories.

Our guests can’t stop praising the remarkable flavors and the care put into every bite. For our late-night snack, we served wood-fired pizza, a playful nod to the bride’s New Jersey roots.

For our Western ceremony, the Santa Clara ruins served as a breathtaking backdrop, styled in soft neutral tones with flowers trailing down the aisle and a graceful arch framing the altar. At the reception in Villa Bokeh, we wanted timeless elegance, a linen-draped tent illuminated by chandeliers, with each panel of fabric meticulously installed by hand. Orchids, my favorite flower, were woven throughout the design, from the tablescapes to my bouquet. Across every celebration, the décor transformed each venue into a living work of art, creating a space where our guests could revel in beauty, joy, and the magic of the moment.

The reception was held at The Grand America Hotel, where they took care of all the food and drinks. Cocktail hour took place outside on the Grand Salon Patio, where guests enjoyed our signature drinks and light bites. The “Reece Water,” a twist on the Texas classic ranch water, and the “Lady Mere,” our take on a timeless cosmopolitan. Dinner was inside the Grand Salon ballroom, where we started with the beet carpaccio salad, followed by the choice of beef ribeye or chicken florentine, both paired with sauteed long carrots and asparagus and herbed mashed potatoes.

Julian and I have always been drawn to Mediterranean architecture, so when we visited The Biltmore in Coral Gables, we knew it was the perfect destination for our wedding. Its grandeur and history gave us the European feel we’d been searching for, while The Church of the Little Flower carried that same timeless beauty into our ceremony. Even though we live in Texas, Miami felt like a true getaway for our family and friends, while also allowing us to weave in Latin influences that honor our heritage. To bring our vision to life, we partnered with our wedding planner, Lourdes Milian, who brought every element together seamlessly, ensuring the day reflected both our style and story. Our design vision centered around romance, warmth, and pastels, especially shades of blue and pink, two colors I’ve always adored. Powder blue carried through the bridesmaid dresses, the custom bar, and reception linens layered with lace overlays, while blush and peach florals softened the palette, and candlelight added intimacy. To balance the dreamy garden feel I loved with Miami’s climate, we hosted a cocktail hour outdoors at sunset, then moved into a glowing indoor reception. Chinoiserie vases, watercolor invitations, and a vintage-inspired cake tied everything together. Every detail was chosen to make the evening feel like a warm celebration, timeless, personal, and filled with romance!

On what I believed was a school reunion in New York, I boarded a sailboat on the Hudson River with my best friends, who had flown in from all over, making the cover story all the more convincing. That’s when Julian suddenly appeared from below deck, completely taking me by surprise. On April 29th, against the backdrop of my favorite city and with Taylor Swift’s “Lover” playing in the background, he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him.

I found my dress at Julian Gold in San Antonio with both of my parents, making the experience even more special! I came in looking for a full lace ballgown from a specific designer, but the bridal consultant suggested I try a silk gown with a Chantilly lace bodice by Mark Ingram, just to try something different. It was the very first dress I tried on, and the moment I stepped out and saw my mom’s tears, I knew it was THE ONE. Even after trying on the dress I originally came for (and many others), I kept coming back to that first one. It was the perfect balance of silk and lace, and it made me feel like a princess! We customized it with long lace sleeves and paired it with a cathedral-length veil edged in matching lace. To complete the look, I chose the Manolo Blahnik Hangisi heels, a playful tribute to Carrie Bradshaw. For jewelry, I carried Julian’s grandfather’s rosary as my “something old,” a meaningful way to have him close on our big day. For the Hora Loca, I changed into a Bronx and Banco mini dress, perfect for dancing the night away!

Dinner followed with a three-course meal highlighting some of our favorite dishes, each thoughtfully chosen to feel indulgent yet comforting, just like sharing a meal at home. One of our favorite details was the signature cocktail lineup, each inspired by the playful personalities of our pups. The “Scotty’s Golden Reserve” was a smooth, timeless old-fashioned, a nod to our golden retriever’s classic charm. The “Newtonade Spritz,” a bright and refreshing lemonade spritz, captured our labradoodle Newton’s sweetness. And the “Yakko’s Fiesta Fetcher,” a bold tequila sunrise, paid tribute to Yakko’s fun-loving, unpredictable spirit. As the night continued, a dessert bar gave guests something extra to nibble on between dances. But it was the late-night bites that truly stole the show, blending my Venezuelan roots with our Austin home. Growing up, I was known for bringing tequeños to school, so having them at our wedding was a must. We paired them with pastelitos, croquetas, and churros, alongside tacos and quesadillas to bring a little Texas flavor to Miami. That same ribbon carried into the ceremony programs and even wrapped our table napkins, creating a thoughtful thread throughout the day. At the reception, menus were finished with wax seals, and the bar menu became a guest favorite with watercolor portraits of our three dogs alongside the signature cocktails named after them.

The gown is covered in sequins, which captured the golden hour light perfectly. For the rehearsal, she changed into the Mercury Gown by Netta BenShabu.

The cocktail hour included mini lobster rolls, taquitos, and pastry-wrapped sausages. Their featured drinks were strawberry guava spritzes and piña coladas (which featured heart-shaped pineapples on top!) as well as a mocktail named after their son, Henry, which was a raspberry and blueberry lemonade.

For the reception dinner, guests enjoyed a sit-down meal that started with Roasted Sweet Corn Soup and fruit salad. Entrees were a choice of grilled snapper, short rib, or mushroom risotto. [/field]

Flowers played a large part in the design. From a statement welcome area at the rehearsal dinner with larger-than-life displays, to the flowers hanging from the reception space, no detail was overlooked! Every single space of the reception featured flowers, including a large display around the DJ booth and large arrangements by the photo booth. Tropical blooms were added throughout her bouquet and the arrangements, including pine cone ginger, birds of paradise, orchids, and jumbo calla lilies.

Take a moment with your mom. Timeswhene I still feel like her little girl again are rare. But this was one of them. Don’t skip the candids. It was low-key and perfect. When they got back to his house, Cassidy´s mom and sister were waiting in the driveway — Cassidy was completely shocked and immediately burst into tears. Cassidy found her dress when shopping in Chicago at Ultimate Bride with her mom and sister, who was getting married 6 months after Cassidy and Hugo,o so they shopped for dresses together!. Cassidy couldn’t stop thinking about one dress in particular, so a few months later, she went to see it again in New York at Berta’s flagship store with a few of her best friends. They were in the store for all of ten minutes — She tried it on, and everyone instantly agreed it was the one. This gown was the perfect blend of modern elegance and romantic charm. Crafted with delicate floral appliqué over soft layers of sheer fabric, it created a light and ethereal movement with every step. The structured bodice offered a flattering silhouette, while the flowing skirt added a sense of effortless grace. Both timeless and contemporary, it was a dress that felt just as dreamy twirling in a sunlit room as it did walking down the aisle.

As for the bridesmaids’ dresses, Cassidy had always imagined everyone in yellows and oranges. She gave minimal direction, and the girls just went for it! She loved how each dress perfectly reflected everyone’s individual style. They ended up with lots of designer overlap (Agua Bendita, Aje, Zimmermann), so it flowed well!

Hearty sides like mushroom risotto, crispy French fries, and pan-seared seasonal vegetables rounded out the feast. A decadent dessert station offered churros, salted chocolate tart, and panna cotta with passion fruit syrup. To accompany the celebration, a premium open bar poured wines such as Tres Raíces Sauvignon Blanc and Selvapìana Chianti Ruffina, alongside an impressive selection of spirits including Tequila Arette, Mezcal Espina Negra, and Las Californias Gin. Signature cocktails like the Magnolia (tequila blanco, Cointreau, lime, flower syrup, za’atar salt) and the Wildflower (vodka, raspberry liqueur, lime, simple syrup), plus a refreshing passion fruit mocktail, added a personalized touch. Late into the night, guests refueled with Mexican favorites like burritos paseados, cochinita pibil tortas, and steak quesadillas—ensuring the celebration carried on in true festive style.

To make it even more personal, Cassidy’s father’s Thali was thoughtfully incorporated into the design, adding a heartfelt and unique touch. For the reception, we embraced the venue’s organic spirit by arranging 225 chairs in an intentionally uneven layout, creating a relaxed and natural flow. The celebration continued with a mix of round and rectangular tables, including an impressive bridal party table for 35 guests that became the centerpiece of the evening. The dance floor, designed in collaboration with The Floor Is Yours, echoed the wedding’s warm color palette, tying the entire design together while inviting guests to celebrate in a space that felt distinctly Cassidy and Hugo.

The oysters became a symbolic and meaningful keepsake for guests to take home, blending artistry, intention, and a touch of coastal charm.

DJ Alexander Ayala kept the energy high all night, while a live saxophone performance by Hiram added an unforgettable layer of rhythm and soul. A Modern Fairytale Celebration of Regal Romance at Fort Lovrijenac

The couple’s vision centered on timeless romance with a regal touch; an atmosphere that felt both elevated and spectacular. The vibe was: Fairytale—castle walls, floral arches, champagne towers, and all around elegance with personalized touches. Fort Lovrijenac (the reception Fortress on the edge of a cliff on the Adriatic Sea) carried layers of personal meaning. Inspired by Andrew’s tarot reading in Tulum, the couple transformed tradition with a one-of-a-kind guest book made of gilded tarot cards. Guests encountered thoughtful tokens everywhere, pocket crystals, custom matchboxes, and engraved Palo Santo sticks inscribed with phrases from the ceremony, such as “All of me loves all of you” and “Hey Baby, I think I wanna marry you.” Every guest also received a heartfelt handwritten note sealed with wax, a keepsake that felt both intimate and grand. Chandeliers illuminated two sweeping banquet tables crowned by a dramatic sweetheart table. It was glamorous, idyllic, and like a modern fairytale. For Veronika and Andrew, the journey was as important as the destination. They designed their celebration as a progression across multiple settings,s inviting guests to walk through Dubrovnik’s storied walls, past arches and stonework steeped in history, before unveiling the grand reveal of the fortress. With a string quartet performing the Game of Thrones theme, the ceremony felt like stepping into another time. True to their backgrounds in film and production, every detail was planned with imagination and artistry. Veronika jokes that she had a “Canva deck for everything,” from napkin folds to chandelier heights.

Veronika Dash and Andrew Sandler’s love story has often been compared to a romantic comedy; the two first met as students at the University of Southern California, where Veronika, an actress, producer, and model from New York, was cast in Andrew’s very first short film. For more than a decade, they built a bond rooted in friendship, sharing family holidays, countless film sets, and every corner of their daily lives side by side. (Including being roommates in a condo in Hollywood with Andrews, now Best Man, and former DJ DiJital) Everything shifted during a trip to Tulum, when a tarot card reading revealed to Andrew that their connection might be destined for more. One year later, Andrew proposed in Tulum on 11/11/22—a date deeply significant to Veronika, who had lost her grandfather during COVID and often saw those numbers as a sign of his presence. The look was a nod to old-Hollywood icons, equal parts glamorous and playful. For the ceremony, she stepped into a signature Pronovias gown discovered at the brand’s flagship in Beverly Hills. The moment she slipped into the gown, she knew it was the ONE. With its lace, crystal embellishments, and soft layers of tulle, the design felt like it had been created for a castle setting. A Vera Wang embroidered veil, Jimmy Choo shoes, Soleil gloves, and a delicate petticoat completed the look. The jewelry remained timeless and personal: diamond earrings from Happy Jewelers, the same jeweler where the couple chose their engagement and wedding bands. As the reception unfolded, Veronika made a second entrance in a couture gown by Fjolla Haxhismajli, a unique and Custom statement piece that was both sensual and unforgettable. Under the night sky, with Justin Jesso performing Stargazing and sparklers illuminating the courtyard, the scene felt straight out of a movie. When it was time to dance into the early hours, Veronika transformed once more, this time into a chic short white dress finished with a dramatic bow. The night ended in true Dubrovnik style at Revelin, the city’s legendary cave club, an adventurous finale to a wedding crafted to be nothing short of unforgettable.

In the lead-up to the wedding, Azazie hosted a special fitting where each bridesmaid tried on different silhouettes to find the one they loved most. The result was a collection of stunning gowns in the same luminous shade, each with its own unique shape, allowing every woman to feel equally beautiful, celebrated, and confident, while still creating a harmonious, picture-perfect bridal party look.[/field]

Andrew looked equally striking in a custom white suit (inspired by the classic elegance of James Bond), Ferragamo patent leather shoes, and a Daytona Panda Rolex watch. The celebration began on Friday, June 6th, with a private walking tour through Dubrovnik’s Old Town. That evening, friends and family gathered at Fratello’s Prosecco Bar on the edge of the Adriatic Sea, where the couple welcomed them with Aperol Spritzes adorned with custom #DashToTheCastle stirrers. Light bites, signature meat and cheese plates, and fresh seafood were served. For the wedding, Signature cocktails like the “Vowtini” and “Espresso Ever After” flowed until 2 am. Guests enjoy custom menus, choosing between meat, pescatarian, and vegetarian signature Croatian dishes. Startersincludee Octopus salad, Caprese salad with fresh basil, or Dalmatian smoked ham, accompanied by a selection of local cheese,h olives, driedtomatoes,s and figs. Entrees were Sea bass fillet with grilled vegetables and roasted potatoes, Chicken stuffed with panceta and mozzarella, roasted potatoes and grilled vegetables entree, or Vegetable risotto. The dessert table overflowed, as seen in the photographs; Cheesecake, chocolate cake, apple strudel, fruit, and fruit salad. Raspberry vanilla wedding cake paired with Coffee and tea. The weekend concluded on Sunday, June 8th, with a private takeover of Copacabana Beach Club. Guests sipped cocktails, jetskied across the sparkling Adriatic. Food included home-style barbecue, French fries, pizzas, salads, and vegetarian burgers. (The perfect hangover food)

Inside the fortress, chandeliers scattered light over two long royal banquet tables, with a jaw dropping sweetheart table at the center; white roses cascading with green accents. When they walked in, they felt like I had stepped into Veronikas Pinterest board; she compiled her dream wedding inspiration into a 29-page vision deck that her planners seamlessly brought to life.

Helena’s couture-inspired cake became a centerpiece in its own right, a Vogue-worthy asymmetrical tower of vanilla and raspberry, lit by sparklers and designed as a metaphor for their relationship: layered, poetic, and chic.

She fell in love with this location way back then, but could never dream it would one day also be her wedding venue. For the couple, who are fans of Game of Thrones, it was also a playful easter egg to host their celebration in the real-life King’s Landing. [/field]

Finally, Veronika and Andrew shared their most special moment, which was tied to a surprise duet he planned for her. “Jamie Miller and Justin Jesso performed the song I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing, and the serenade echoed across the night sky, accompanied by the guests’ voices singing along,” Andrew highlights, adding that the video went viral with over 10 million views on Instagram and TikTok. “It was epic, emotional, and completely ours,” Veronika recalls. “The fact that our two best friends were singing made the moment even more special.” The moment carried an added weight of meaning: not only was it the soundtrack from one of Andrew’s favorite films (Armageddon), but the couple had also attended one of Aerosmith’s final concerts together in Las Vegas, adding to the emotional resonance.

A Romantic Late-Summer Garden Wedding with Desert Rose Hues in Lowcountry

We wanted to start with a simpler, neutral base for my vision. Then we would create visual interest through different design elements such as organic floral shapes, pops of color, patterns, and textures. I wanted these to be reflected in the linens, lounge furniture, glassware,e etc. Again, since we were going for a romantic garden vibe,e I wanted to pull in natural, neutral textures as well. This is where the rattan elements of the chargers, chairs, and lighting came into play. As such, an intimate/romantic garden vibe with a late summer/desert rose color palette was the main driver. When I saw a video of the property of Lowndes Grove online, I immediately knew this was our wedding venue as it hit all of the marks on my list. The venue exudes the exact style and feeling we had been searching for. The option of having a classic, historical home while also being able to utilize the open, airy grounds that overlook the beautiful lowcountry waterfront of the Ashley River was a nno-brainer

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Cole proposed to me at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in Charlotte. He flew in my maid of
honor Katie (who I’ve known since 9th grade) from NYC under the guise of spending a fun
weekend with her. The girls went to a fun brunch that morning while Cole snuck off to go set up
the proposal. After brunch, Katie pointed out that she saw these cool gardens nearby where we
could take some cute pictures together. When we arrived at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens, we
were directed to walk a certain path by the receptionist on the map she gave us. When we
rounded the corner of the path, I saw a telescope set up with beautiful flower bouquets,
champagne and a charcuterie board. As I was coming to the realization of what was happening, I
walked up to the telescope and looked through the lens. Through it I saw a sign that said “Rachel
will you marry me?” I looked up from the lens with tears in my eyes as Cole popped out of the
bushes (literally) behind me where he was hiding. He then got down on one knee and popped the
question! We both had so much adrenaline and emotion in the moment that we were physically
shaking from happiness. We always tell people we blacked out in that moment! Cole also had his
sister Malena drive to Charlotte to join us, who was also hiding around the corner. After we took
some engagement photos at the gardens and enjoyed some champagne, we celebrated further
with our friends back in the city who threw us a surprise party![/field]

ecstatic to hear as we both are big foodies. The food and service from PPHG just blew us away

Speaking personally for ourselves, walking into the reception and seeing the floral chandelier was the tear-jerking, draw-dropping moment. I wanted to make sure we utilized the tent space as much as possible and avoided negative space. This really became a focal point in the design aspect of the reception area, drawing the eye to the dancefloor. The romantic, soft feeling created by the natural shapes of the florals and the intimate atmosphere provided by the lighting of the candles lining the tables was just perfect throughout the entire evening.

We are both big cake lovers, so having a wedding cake was a must! We wanted a simple design on the outside of our cake, given that we knew we would have a floral crown surrounding it on the table. Our cake was three tiers; we would be able to take the top tier for ourselves to freeze and have that traditional moment at the one-year mark of our marriage. We chose an almond-flavored cake as the base, with a raspberry filling for a little fun twist, and topped it with a vanilla almond buttercream icing. We both love raspberries, so when we saw that Ashley Bakery had a raspberry filing we both fell for it immediately!

I knew I wanted something that looked bridal without having an overly formal or traditional wedding dress. I was looking for a romantic dress – simple but elegant. The dress was a V. Chapman Studio bridal dress. It was the very first dress I picked, and as soon as I tried it on, I knew it was “the” dress. I didn’t look any further or try any other dresses on – it was exactly what I wanted.

Belle De Jour Floral provided the florals, and they did an AMAZING job! The flowers were definitely the highlight of the wedding – they went over and beyond my expectations. The colors, style, and types of florals were gorgeous, especially against the background of the ocean. I could not have been happier with them. I just wish I could have brought that arch home! Cindy Tang from Dear Blanc Events was my wedding coordinator, and she was the absolute best. She took care of all other décor and ambiance, and it was beautiful. She knew exactly what I was looking for and went above and beyond it.

He said it was a really touching part of the ceremony for him.

But we make a point to spend quality time together as a couple and as a family because maintaining love and support for each other and our family is our priority. 2. We had the best coordinator(@dear.blanc.events), a beautiful location (@kahala_resort), an amazing florist (@belledejour_floral), a super talented hair and makeup team (@makeupbymariahmelanie), and an incredible photographer/videographer (@theelweddingproductions)– they all truly came together to make the day perfect for us in a matter of months. Besides their talent and professionalism, they were all kind and so easy to work with, which made the process so much less stressful and so much more fun for me. I could not recommend all of them more. The wedding had the same feel as if we had been planning it for a year. It was perfect, and I’m really grateful to each of them. 3. We used the wedding as an opportunity to do a family trip with both sets of parents, our children,n and Darin’s siblings, which felt like a once-in-a-lifetime family trip. Getting married during a family trip seemed like the perfect way to share our love with our immediate families while also getting the chance to travel all together and create memories as a new family.

A Springtime Floral Reverie Inspired by Holland, Where Abundance and Fragrance Took Center Stage

The inspiration for this workshop was Holland in the spring, where flowers are EVERYTHING! The goal is toallow studentsy to experience floral abundance and allow them to revel in an excess of beauty. Fragrance, tone, texture. To be almost overwhelmed by possibility. Holland in the spring is something everyone who loves flowers should have the opportunity to experience. It will blow your mind.

There were several arrangements that were made during the course of the three days together, but for the table I wanted to play with violets, blues, and lavenders, as these are best in the spring. Best, in that there isthe widestt variety of flowers in those colors to choose from. I also thought they might look beautiful against the khaki/brown/green murals on the walls.

Parc Broekhuizen, Leersum The Venue: Parc Broekhuizen has a long history, going back to at least 1408, when the first known occupant (Tyman van Zuylen) is recorded. It was recognized as a ridderhofstad (a kind of Dutch manor or knight’s house) in 1629. The current main building’s “form” (i.e., its architectural style) dates from around 1810 when it was rebuilt, replacing earlier structures. The design is a mix: the historic structure has been restored carefully between 2011 and 2016, retaining elements like period fireplaces, decorative murals, Louis-Seize style ceilings, while adding contemporary art, furniture, and modern amenities. Each room is somewhat unique.

Edwin Oudshoorn is a Dutch fashion designer who is very much focused on romantic, theatrical couture. Think fairy-tale silhouettes, flowing shapes, voluminous fabrics, lots of details like sequins, Swarovski crystals, hand-dyed silks, and tulles. His design philosophy involves telling stories: each piece or collection is meant to evoke a mood, atmosphere,e or narrative. This made him the perfect choice to collaborate with on this workshop in this enchanting setting.
