Bohemian Beachfront Malibu Wedding

I'm not sure what I love the most about this wedding. Maybe it's the Bride's effortless elegance. Or the ridiculously lovely Malibu sunset. Maybe it's the sweet but easy details, the forever gorgeous photographs by Readyluck, the fact that the couple used pink poppies in their beautiful arrangements by This Little Branch, to celebrate their adorable daughter, Poppy. I love it all, every last bit of it. And guess what? There is SO much more right here!

From Lavender Grey Events... When you have summer time in a Malibu at a cottage overlooking the ocean, a British groom and a beautiful bride you know you have a recipe for a gorgeous event. Lizzie and Matt put together a fun boho chic wedding that put everyone in a good mood. Lindsay from READYLUCK was there to capture it all. Lizzie and her girls carried amazing florals designed by The Little Branch. My favorite were the large king proteas that the girls carried. All of their dresses mirrored the brides lovely, relaxed lace gown. Floral crowns adorned all of their heads to complete the look. Even their little girl Poppy had a tiny floral crown on her head.

As for the event, the venue itself set a stage for so much natural beauty that we kept it simple. Cypress Sea Cove boasts gorgeous views and lush greenery all around. The color palette was full of coral, mint, peaches, pinks and gold. The Little Branch created a beautiful birch archway adorned with loose pink and blush flowers. Bronze lanterns and petals lined the aisle as the beautiful wedding party entered. For the reception, Lizzie and Matt marked each guest table with a vinyl, including Pink Floyd, Arctic Monkeys, and Yacht. The florals on each table were an eclectic mix of vintage brass vases and bottles with a variety of florals like ranunculus, succulents and poppies. There was a 24 foot garland with mixed florals stretching the large head table. An adorable little box with one french macaron in peach was placed at each setting. Z Patisserie created the biggest tiramisu cake that we placed in the lookout overlooking the cliff for the couple to cut.

With such a fun group of folks, we knew the dancing portion was going to be great, but Matt and his mom brought down the house with a lively dance to Pharrell's "Happy." This got everyone dancing, and from there on, no one stopped. The DJ was their friend that flew in from London to help the couple out. He was fantastic and kept everyone on the dance floor all night long. The whole night was magical under the stars overlooking the ocean but it was this sweet loving couple that really made the night special.

From the Bride... Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale. A fairy tale is what our wedding day truly felt like to me. Marrying the man of my dreams in front of all our friends and family was such a magical feeling.

Matt and I both knew that we always wanted to get married on a beach or near the ocean. Cypress Sea Cove was the first venue that we went to go see, and immediately we knew it was the perfect place for us to get married, it just felt right, kind of like our love. Once the venue was decided, we began thinking about what kind of wedding we wanted. We both agreed that we wanted our wedding to represent what we loved, which is why we decided to use album covers for our seating chart instead of table numbers. We choose 12 bands that we absolutely loved, and bands that reminded us of our time together. Flowers were an easy choice. I knew that I wanted to wear a flower crown instead of a veil since our wedding was more on the casual side. I also wanted to incorporate some unique flowers, which is why I choose to use proteas as the bridesmaid's bouquets, and I couldn't forget to include pink poppy's to represent our beautiful daughter Poppy. I also wanted the tablescape to be unique and interesting with an eclectic vibe, which is why I used lots of different flowers, vases, and candles instead of just one center piece. Meg at The Little Branch turned my dreams into a reality, and the whole day was just completely magical.
