Sweet South Carolina Plantation Wedding
This couple has Charleston down! Thanks in part to Intrigue Design & Events, their vision of a laid-back, lively southern affair was certainly achieved. We love the warm autumnal florals from Out Of The Garden and the oh-so-charming Lowndes Grove Plantation. Just look at that spiral staircase! There were too many beautiful pictures to choose from from Riverland Studios so make sure to take a look at the whole gallery.
From Riverland Studios... Take a peek at Jenny & Kyle’s enchanting wedding celebration at Lowndes Grove Plantation! The couple were married on the lawn amidst the property’s beautiful marsh views. The reception continued around the back of the house, where guests enjoyed cocktails and hand-rolled cigars by the riverside. Jenny wanted a laid back and lively event where she could dance the night away with her guests. With the help of Intrigue Design & Events her vision was achieved. We love how the warm autumn color palette, comfy outdoor furniture, and romantic lantern light make for the perfect mix of cozy, yet chic decor.
From the Bride... We are both residents at MUSC which is what brought us to Charleston in the first place. Kyle is in Radiology, I'm in Internal Medicine. Kyle and I had our first conversation over a box of bones in the cadaver lab. Over the next several months we spent the hours dissecting, studying and getting to know one another. We started as friends and it turned into more. Over the next several years we went on family vacations, sailing expeditions, snow patrolling the streets of Chicago, getting to know each others friends and creating a life together. After 3 years, Kyle asked me to marry him. A year and a half from that question we were married in our new home state of South Carolina.
Kyle and I are both pretty casual, laid back people. Kyle is the outdoorsman, loving camping, fishing, boating and kayaking. While I enjoy all those things, I also love a good day at the beach, going to the movies, going out to restaurants, and traveling. We never really came up with a theme for the wedding. It's more just 'Charleston.' There will be lots of lanterns and candles, earth toney flowers. There will be a cigar lounge with leather couches and a cigar roller. There will be a tree swing. I just want people to dance like crazy at this wedding.
