Cheerful Spring Inspiration Shoot
Spring in New England tends to drag its feet a bit, so we find ourselves craving shoots like this one from Avec L'amour Photography more than you can possibly believe. Which is why when we laid eyes on these bright florals from Vo Floral Design and stunning spring styling from Blissful Event Planning we nearly feel out of our chairs with happiness. The Inspiration: Spring is our favorite time for the year and not only because the weather is beautiful but our entire favorite blooms are in season. “Spring Love” was the inspiration for this styled shoot and we want to create a soft and airy feel to the shoot, just like a breath of spring at the beginning of the season. We carefully chosen the delicate blooms (poppies, ranunculus, garden roses, jasmine vines), to the soft tulle wedding gown, the water paint paper good, the delicate hair piece and wedding belt, all the small details to express how we feel about spring: soft and delicate.
The Creative Team: Planning a styled shoot is almost like planning a small wedding. We’ll need all the elements and vendors similar to a wedding: The flowers, dress, shoes, paper good, cake/desserts, model, gowns, shoes, accessories, rentals, makeup artist, and of course the photography. Being able to work with amazing talented collaborators helped make a success shoot. We put together a mood board to help everyone see the concept and theme we’re going for and asked each vendors to be mindful of the theme but create something unique that best showcase their work at the same time. We’re impressed that on the shoot day, everyone work compliment to other so well.
The Challenge: Just like a wedding, there are dramas and anything can go wrong. Being organized and working with a wedding coordinate really helped make the shoot more fun and happen as planned. Samar from Blissful Events did a wonderful job in helping us coordinator with the different vendors and making sure all the vendors have the support and know where and when to be on site. Despite of everything careful planned, our model had food poison the morning of the shoot, we’re notified about an hour before makeup and hair supposed to start. Multiples calls to anyone and everyone to see if we can find another model right away and lucky for us, Ben and Dieu were the last couple on the list and they were graciously willing to be our models. Amazing, they fit the look and theme even more beautifully.
