Modern Engagement Party with Macy's!

Every great wedding begins with an engagement celebration. And when you're hosting one such soiree, you'll need killer products to pull it off. In our latest installment of the Macy's Registry to Reality series, we set out to throw an intimate, style-driven bash - in a modern bridal boutique, no less. From DIYs to cocktails we're sharing no-stress party solutions to give your next gathering a little extra sparkle.

To begin mapping out our engagement celebration, we knew it had to start with great products. I'm talking those pieces that make any occasion shine a little brighter and translate from registry to reality without a hitch. Mini champagne bottles
Navy gloss spray paint
Silver spray paint
Painter’s tape
Silver glitter adhesive letters
Silver string
Navy cardstock

 Soak the champagne bottles in a large pot of warm water to loosen the labels (make sure the water only goes high enough to cover the labels on the side, not the wrappers that cover the top of the bottles). You might want to let the bottles soak overnight. Gently peel off the labels and use a sponge to scrub away any remaining residue. Dry the bottles.

 Spray the top labels of a bottle silver on all sides. It’s okay if some spray paint gets onto the body of the bottle, you’ll be painting over it next. Let dry completely, about 1 hour.

 Wrap painter’s tape around the bottom edge of the silver label to form a clean line. Tape some scrap newspaper around the top of the bottle to protect the rest of the silver cap.

 Spray paint the body of the bottle with the navy gloss paint on all sides. Let dry for 1 hour, then remove the tape and newspaper.

Cut navy paper into strips ¾” wide by 2 ½” long. Cut out a triangle shape on one end of each strip, then write a guest’s name on each tag in silver pen.

Wrap a long strand of silver string several times around the neck of the champagne, where the silver and navy colors meet. Poke a hole in the navy tag and string onto the strands and tie closed. Now peel the backing off the adhesive letter that matches the guest’s name and press onto the front of the champagne bottle. Repeat steps 2-7 for as many bottles as needed.
