Saddlerock Ranch Wedding
I've been staring at this gorgeous Saddlerock Ranch wedding captured by Vis Photography for hours now, and honestly still can't get over every gorgeous detail planned by Cake & Punch Productions. The flowers from Stephanie Grace Designs? Breathtaking. The rustic elegance? Perfectly executed. Top it all off with a couple that has some serious style, and ladies and gents, we have wedding gold on our hands. See even more here.
From Erica Lake...When Christina and Sam chose me as their wedding planner I was ecstatic. One of the challenges that I was looking forward to the most was infusing both Christina's very feminine, delicate style with Sam's rugged, manly persona.
My initial consult with my couples-to-be is one of the most important meetings I take during the planning process. When I sat down with Christina and Sam, I wanted to hear anything and everything that they envisioned for their wedding day. My role in their wedding planning process wasn't to push them to pick my favorite flower for the centerpieces or to hire my favorite DJ... it was to guide them in choosing the best vendors to make their dreams become a reality.
We incorporated personalized elements into every aspect of Christina and Sam’s wedding. While the overall design and furniture elements were kept simplistic, the hand drawn signage, custom made ring box, and decoupage photo tree stumps were details that had their guests raving.
This day was truly magical. I am so honored that this beautiful couple trusted me in producing their wedding. You can look through photos of their special day and get a feel for who they are as a couple, even if you don’t know them personally. I LOVE that!
From the Bride…From the moment Sam asked me to be his girlfriend while camping in a tent, to then asking me to be his wife on top of a mountain, I knew our wedding was destined to be an epic adventure full of love and romance.
Our wedding day was truly a fairytale. Guests entered the Malibu vineyard estate, Saddlerock Ranch, which took them by beautiful horses, rolling vineyards lined with oak trees, and a few wild surprises. They followed hand crafted signs all the way to the beautiful garden setting where the wedding and reception took place. Our friends and family were greeted with refreshing drinks and an inviting melody played by acoustic guitars before they took their seat in the open meadowland lined with rose petals. Beautiful mountains, rolling vineyards, and a romantic willow tree was the breath taking backdrop where Sam and I exchanged our vows.
Shortly after tying the knot, champagne was popped and delicious appetizers were served. An extra special surprise our caterer provided, was apples and carrots for the guests to interact and feed the horses. As our guests settled into the reception we gave them a very fitting choice of cocktails. They had the choice of either the "Mountain Man", or the "Asian Princess". The less adventurous had the standard options from the top shelf open bar and Saddlerocks very own wine.
Our reception took place under an endless diamond sky which in fact were twinkling lit oak trees and crystal chandeliers. What added to the magic was the band Icarus Account, who happens to be really good friends of ours. The guys played our first dance, and continued to play our other favorites throughout dinner. One of the more unique and special moments that we incorporated into our wedding to honor my family heritage was a traditional Korean Paebaek tea ceremony, which took place during the reception. In this ritualistic ceremony the husband and wife are dressed in traditional Korean Hanbooks. The ceremony begins by honoring their elders by sharing tea, intently listening to their words of wisdom, and then trying to catch dates and chestnuts symbolizing both how many girls and boys they will have in the future. According to the Paebaek, Sam and I will be having well over 20 kids! Having the chance to honor my family's heritage while sharing this tradition with our guests was very special to us. All of our guests kept telling us that this was their favorite part of the day.
When everyone was not dancing their pants off, guests were able to indulge in our two wedding cakes, plethora of cupcakes, and a late night snack of calbi tacos or mini pulled pork sandwiches. A fun gift to our guests was a famous cartoonist who drew caricatures of our guests, which they could keep forever. We also handed out pashminas for the women and everyone received American Flags for our big send off!
Some special touches that made our wedding personal and unique included the custom wood work crafted by our friends from Build and Designed Inc. Every sign was custom made as the guests drove into the vineyard estate including "Just Around the River Bend" as a nod to the days I worked at Disney World as Pocahontas. They equipped one of our ring bearers with a sign that said "Sam Here Comes Your Babe!" and the other with a wooden ring box with our names and wedding date engraved on it. My favorite things they made for us were our centerpieces used for the reception. They hand crafted wooden table runners which held a row of single test tubes filled with beautiful flowers.
Every detail of our wedding felt so personal to Sam and I. From our signature wedding drinks, the live band, his & her wedding cakes, Korean ceremony, and our patriotic send off, this day will forever be remembered as the very start to our beautiful and fun filled life together.
Our beautiful day went off without a hitch because of the help and coordination of my amazing wedding planner, Erica Lake. Her knack for timing and attention to detail made our wedding flow perfectly and effortlessly. She truly made my vision come to life while helping me stay within my budget. Knowing that she was in charge on my wedding day left me stress and worry free. Thanks to her, Sam, myself, and our families were truly able to enjoy every second of this magical day.
A special thanks to our amazing photographers from Vis Photography for capturing our day so beautifully and our videographer, David Barnett, for creating our wedding video in which we will be able to re-live this perfect day over and over again.
