From the Bride... Our wedding day turned out exactly how we wanted it to. Sure there were hiccups such as city wide power outages and guests being stuck in the hotel elevator for hours before the ceremony started. All those things make for cool stories. By the time I got to walk down the aisle and see my handsome groom I was nothing but excited with butterflies.
Our main goal was to have a fun celebration with the perfect mix of simple but elegant details. All the planning, crafting and trips to the flea market all came together just the way we wanted. Our engagement was just shy of a year which meant we needed up choose our venue fairly quickly. The second we laid eyes on McCormick ranch we knew it was the venue for us. We loved the idea of an outdoor wedding and the farm/vintage feel fits us so perfectly. Not to mention the small Dutch Girl and boy figurine in the venue Garden that my dutch family highly approved of. Almost all the decor at the wedding was DIY and we choose things that we could use after the wedding in our own home for decor as well.
I can't take all the credit for making everything. We were so blessed by the talent and help we received from family and friends. My dad built an awesome photo wall from scratch as well as a handmade bench that all our guests signed and the list of help goes on. I have never seen a more packed dance floor, the BBQ food was amazing, and Sean even attempted to slide across a non slick dance floor only to tear open the knees of his slacks. The night was a success and I wouldn't change one thing about it! I stare at pictures everyday reliving the moments.
