North Carolina Wedding from Keepsake Memories Photography
Ever wonder how to make a Monday morning even prettier than usual? Fill it with one hour after another of gorgeous inspiration, Wedding Wednesday style. That's how. So, today we're kicking off the week in just that way, starting with this breathtaking North Carolina gem from Keepsake Memories Photography. After searching far and wide for the perfect spot to tie the knot, these two cuties decided on a destination affair at the uber-wonderful Hawkesdene House, sight unseen. (When you know, you know.) It was a weekend chock-full of good food, good friends and one VERY beautiful wedding. See it all in the full gallery.
From the Bride... After an amazing fairytale engagement in Puerto Rico thoughtfully planned out by my then boyfriend, I knew I had to plan a wedding that could compare. As we began throwing out ideas for a wedding in our hometown, Indianapolis, nothing seemed to stand out to us or really get us excited. We decided to look at destination wedding locations. I wasn’t sure where to begin but I did know we wanted an outdoor ceremony, small venue where all of the guests could stay together and a reflection of our casual style. After scouring the internet for days looking the perfect location, I finally came across a listing for The Hawkesdene House. This was the first idea that really got us excited. The venue looked amazing from the website and Rob was extremely helpful and friendly. Hawkesdene House is a hidden treasure tucked away in the Cherokee Mountains in Andrews, North Carolina. We felt so great about the location that we booked it sight unseen! We planned to take a trip to visit the property a couple of months later but they were almost completely booked so we decided to take the chance and reserve it. THANKFULLY we did, the venue, owners and staff completely exceeded our expectations!!
There are so many great aspects about Hawkesdene House but one of our favorites was that all of our guests would be able to stay on location the entire weekend. We were incredibly excited about being able to spend the whole weekend visiting with our family and friends. They have five very elegant cottages along with a beautifully decorated main house featuring 7 bedrooms all with private baths making our guests feel right at home. Another great feature of Hawkesdene House was that the owners, Phil and Rob, prepare all of the food onsite the entire weekend. The food is definitely not just ordinary wedding food, the food they prepare is gourmet, made from scratch heaven in your mouth! It has been several months since the wedding and all of our guests are still RAVING about the food, hospitality and beauty!!
The entire weekend was absolutely incredible! Everything went according to plan and we had beautiful weather. We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. One of my favorite moments was right before the ceremony when my fiancé and I were holding hands (without looking, of course) and right at that moment I knew the day and the man standing beside me were perfect.
