Because all of us over here at SMP HQ are head over heels with this cheerful celebration from Theo Milo Photography. We have Kickstand Events to thank for the lively color palette and bounty of florals gracing all the images, but the cute as can be couple makes it all that much more fabulous. See it all here!

From the Bride... We knew our wedding had to be on Topsail Island off the North Carolina Coast. Less than three hours from where we live in Chapel Hill, Jeff and I had spent many weekend getaways relaxing together on the beach or gathering with friends and family. We wanted a spring wedding, however planning an out-of-town event during my busiest year of medical school was not going to happen. Enter the fabulous ladies from Kickstand Events who worked tirelessly to make our yellow-and-blue beach wedding a wonderful reality. Our first issue was finding a venue that could accommodate 70 guests but keep the beach house feel we were going for. We found a fantastic house with multiple decks and a perfect sized ocean-side patio, but it had a large pool taking up half the space. Fortunately our clever planners found a company to cover the pool and what was once a major obstacle became the coolest dance floor I have ever seen!

Our day unfolded in a series of surprises for the guests from being transported from ceremony to reception on a Wilmington Trolley, a sushi-chef making beautiful creations throughout cocktails and dinner, a late-night s'more station and glow sticks on the dance floor. Some of my favorite details included my yellow and peach bouquet that gave off a beautiful floral scent throughout the ceremony, the ornament favors made from seashells my aunt had collected from a previous trip to Topsail which my mother wrote our names and the date on, and my husband looking so handsome in his tux!

Directly after the ceremony, our planners had arranged a private moment for the two of us on the top floor of the house complete with hors d'oeuvres and champagne to reflect on our life together with a beautiful ocean view. Looking back on the day I am so happy we stuck with a location that was meaningful to us a couple since that set the tone for everything else that followed and kept it all unique to us. And one of the best parts about a beach house reception is that the house was ours for the night and we were able to continue the reception on into an awesome after-party!
