Aspen Wedding from James Christianson + Bluebird Productions
We loved our Colorado wedding this morning so very much, that when Bluebird Productions sent over a snowy soiree they planned in Aspen, we had to make it a Rocky Mountain State kind of day on the LBB Blog. What you are about to see is not just a beautiful wedding, but is a snow-covered, magical-feeling, warm-ambiance soiree celebrating the love of two very special people. We've got it all in a beautiful gallery from James Christianson, so make sure to save a little time to take a break from this summer heat in the prettiest way possible!
From Bluebird Productions ... Lauren Turek and Steve Russel knew each other when they were young. They reunited years later when Steve saw Lauren’s face on a real estate ad in Aspen. He called her number immediately. Lauren and Steve fell in love and moved to La Jolla, CA, where Lauren could pursue her love for fashion and Steve could pursue his love for yachts. Lauren now owns Kerut in La Jolla, a very successful clothing store.
Having reunited and fallen in love in Aspen, CO, the happy couple decided to get married there. At the beginning of their planning process, they brought on Bluebird Productions to plan their special day. Lauren had set the scene for a fall wedding in Aspen when she sent out boxes filled with aspen leaves and a gondola ticket for her Save The Date. The wedding weekend was a true fairytale and tour of Aspen. James Christianson caught every detail of the weekend on film.
Thursday night, guests were entertained at a private residence with a western BBQ. Lauren even had a branding iron made with their wedding logo so guests could brand their cowboy hats or boots if they wanted. The rehearsal dinner was at the beautiful Brexi Brasserie on Friday.
The wedding day was a whirlwind of weather. The day started with a beautiful sunny ride up the Aspen Gondola to the top of the mountain for an outdoor ceremony on the Wedding Deck. Guests were then surprised by a brief snowstorm. Lauren and Steve said it was a blessing to have sun and snow in one hour for their wedding. The snow made for beautiful photos. After the ceremony, guests rode down the gondola to cocktail hour at Ajax Tavern in The Little Nell hotel. Urban Island, a steel drum band entertained guest for an hour before Lauren and Steve were off in a horse drawn carriage followed by all their guests, to the private Caribou Club for dinner. Guests enjoyed a wonderful gourmet meal followed by their favorite Aglamesis ice cream and branded cookies that were brought in from out of state. The evening ended with everyone dancing the night away to beats by DJ theory, who was flown in from NY.
