From Brooke Keegan Weddings and Events... Who would ever think that you would marry your grade school sweetheart? With Carma and Amr, that was the case. They used to go home every night and write each other love notes and give them to each other the next day at school. In one of the letters, Carma even alluded to them getting married someday and how crazy that would be. Fast forward several years, and they rekindled their love for one another. Even though Amr was living in Chicago and Carma in Dana Point, they knew it was right.
The couple decided to tie the knot on a lovely afternoon in December at The Resort at Pelican Hill. They really wanted to enhance the beauty of the property but keep it simple and elegant. Sticking to the colors of the property, all of the décor was white, cream, ivory and natural shades of green. For the ceremony, Amr’s brother did a beautiful job officiating. They wanted to have someone really special to perform the ceremony. For the décor, Carma had a specific vision for the ceremony. She couldn’t find a photo of exactly what she wanted, so we designed the custom arch with Annette Gomez. It was the perfect backdrop for the beautiful couple. For the reception, we wanted to enhance the natural beauty of the ballroom. With the wood beams and gorgeous chandeliers, we kept all the centerpieces low, full of lush white, cream and green florals and a lot of ambient candlelight. We adorned each napkin with a sprig of lavender and lace ribbon treatment. Instead of just a traditional menu, we included the lyrics to their first dance song, “After All” by Cher and Peter Cetera, a very special and meaningful song to them.
A primary focus for the wedding was to make sure the guests had a lot of fun! Alongside the wedding DJ Peter, we brought in DJ Dandana. A duo that plays alongside the music with drums. It was such a spectacular addition to the evening. During dinner, we had a quartet of tango dancers perform to keep the guests entertained. The photo booth, gourmet coffee cart and dessert bar were also a big hit.
