Congratulations, Little Black Book WPPI Winners!
It's no secret that we love our LBB vendors. We handpick them after a rigorous interview process to make sure that we really are recommending THE Best of the Best - and equally important, people we LOVE to work with. If we could, we would give Fabulousity Awards to all our LBBers for the gorgeous weddings they send our way on a daily basis. But since it would be impossible to do so (we just love them all with every bit of our hearts... could be a pretty messy award ceremony every single day) we are so glad to hear when our definitely deserving LBB vendors are winning awards on their own. And since the photography world just had their own bash at WPPI 2012, we are here to happily report that some of our fabulous LBB Photographers got the credit they so deserved in some of the prestigious awards! So without further further ado, we want to extend a big congratulations (and lots of virtual hugs and kisses) to these award winners...
J. Cogliandro Photography won TWO fantastic awards for his work. First was the prestigious Grand Award in the Wedding Division of the 2012 Wedding & Portrait Photographers International Awards of Excellence. The winning photograph, which also took first place honors in the Bride and Groom category, features Houstonian Lori Hillman Knop. Using her veil to create a unique couture look, Cogliandro captured the image during Knop’s bridal portrait session at Houston’s Hotel ZaZa.

Cogliandro also walked away with the third place in the Landscape category of the competition. Judges base their scores on a combination of creativity, impact, storytelling, technical excellence, lighting, posing, expression, print quality and composition. A big congratulations to you Joe!

Justine Ungaro took home the Third Place prize in the Brial Party category for this image - a gorgeous take on the Groom and his Groomsmen from Union Station in Los Angeles at the wedding of Mike Livanos & Catie Mandas. Congratulations Justine!

Melissa Hopkins of Scott Hopkins Photography won an Accolade of Excellence at WPPI 2012 in the catagory of Wedding Photojournalism thanks to this amazing shot featuring a very chic bride. And after spending many years admiring Melissa's work, we are not one bit surprised of this deserving award. XOXO Melissa!

Catherine Hall Studios was another double winner at this years WPPI conference, and we couldn't be more excited for her. She took First Place in the Glamour/Boudoir Category for this Julia Morgan Ballroom image. In the opulent ballroom the subject peers out the window, her vision assisted by the use of Galilean binoculars.

Catherine also took first place in the Individual Portrait category for her capture of this Pilgrim of Black Rock Desert, Nevada. Congratulations from all of us Catherine!

And last, but CERTAINLY not least, we want to extend a huge hug of congratulations to Cliff Mautner Photography, whose work always brings a tear to our eyes, and a butterfly to our stomachs, but it's good to know we're not the only ones! Cliff was presented with an amazing honor, being named the 2012 WPPI International Photographer of the Year. Sponsored by NikonUSA, it was the final award given during the 2012 WPPI awards of excellence presentation. The award is for a culmination of achievements in artistry, education, business, and overall standards of the craft. We might just need to break out the bubbly this afternoon in your honor Cliff!
