For all you New Yorkers out there itching for the clock to strike five so you can hit the road to a beachy destination for the holiday weekend, this engagement session shot by The Jason Groupp and styled by Merci New York is just what the inspiration doctor ordered! Aren't we all longing to get our toes on the sand ASAP? This city-dwelling couple was craving the sandy shores for their carefree engagement session so the they took a hop, skip and jump over Long Island Sound to Westport, CT for a beach-themed engagement session that turned out uber-adorable if you ask me (I would like each of her dresses pretty please). But I suppose that is to be expected with these fab vendors, and there is even more to help pass the time until the holiday weekend in the full gallery of images!

From Merci New York...I think a lot of New York City brides yearn to have a beach-themed engagement session popularized by West Coast style, but given our natural urban landscape, it's definitely a very tough act to pull off. My styling clients, Tiffany and Rich, (who were referred to me through their planner, Lindsay Landman Events), were certainly a case in point! Tiff continuously showed us beautiful, soft beach scenes (all from SMP!) for e-shoot inspiration, and of course, we didn't want to say no! So we hunted down some beautiful beach towns just shy of an hour's drive from the city and came up with gorgeous, yet preppy Westport, CT for her beach shoot. After a quick drive up the scenic Merritt Parkway, the couple and crew were posing and propping to perfection!

An IHNY session is an engagement shoot with a serious upgrade designed to celebrate you, and your love in the greatest city in the world. (I'm not biased) So when Tiffany and Rich approached me and said they wanted a beautiful sunset on the beach I wondered how I could incorporate my signature to this out of the norm (for me at least) shoot. Fortunately, Tiffany is working with the talented planner Lindsay Landman, and she suggested bringing in the talents of Jacqueline Weppner of Merci New York to help bring this vision to life. I've wanted to work with her FOREVER, so I was thrilled.
