This contemporary Philadelphia wedding, seen through the lens of Sofia Negron, had me at that dress. That perfect, simple dress with the over the top, fabulous back. It is THE gown for this chic affair - classic with amazing, gorgeous little details. Coordinated by lovely Lynda of I DO Wedding Consulting, the whole fête went down at the Kimmel Center - a center for the arts that features the most stunning glass atrium. All in all, we'd give this wedding a 10 (and wish the scale went just a little bit higher). Click here for more!
Christiana and Brad both attended graduate school at Vanderbilt University. After graduating, she moved back to Philadelphia and they did the long distance thing until he moved last year. Brad and Christiana train for triathalons together, have date nights once a week and spend time with their rescued dog, Ace.
When planning their wedding, Christiana wanted to incorporate their love for the outdoors, bikes and her classic style. The Kimmel Center, a premiere performance space in Philadelphia, has an upstairs atrium with a huge glass dome. They layered classic ivory, summer blue and vibrant green flowers with modern wood containers and organic details for a stylish urban celebration.
Christi wanted to achieve an organic, classic and elegant feel for the wedding. Evantine brought the outside in with large iron trees with hanging candles, large balls of moss and varying shades of green linen. They mixed elements like a rustic country table, wooden bicycle and metal and wood vases. Since the space is so vast and open, they used a combination of square and rectangular tables and varying height centerpieces. Many of Brad's favorite flower, the sunflower, were inserted throughout the decor as a bright nod to sunshine.
The groom’s custom-tailored navy suit, crisp white shirt and green and white stripped necktie felt comfortably festive on a late summer evening. The bride carried her usual style to her gown, simple and classic from the front but with a surprise in the back. The bridal party dressed in different tones of blue: classic navy for the groomsmen and indigo blue for the bridesmaids. Organically-inspired bridesmaids bouquets were designed using a varied mix of green and blue flowers.
