It took me about, oh, 2 seconds to decide on featuring this wedding. It's just about as good as it gets, with a style that is so elegant, so simple and yet SO freaking chic. From the bridal accessories, to the venue. From the gorgeous gown to the insane photography, every bit of it is exactly what I look for in a wedding. Missy Cochran is the talent behind the images and really, she had me at hello.

We both attended Oregon State University. While we both knew ‘of’ each other, we didn’t really know each other personally until a few years later. As fate would have it, we both ended up at a pool party one hot summer day in 2004 where we officially ‘met’ through mutual Oregon State friends. It was one of those romantic ‘our eyes locked from across the room’ kinds of things. From there, our relationship blossomed and we made it official on September 26, 2004 – exactly 5 years before the date we would eventually be married.
Kyle and I are both extremely laid back and family oriented. Therefore, when we started planning, we made a point to choose things that would make our wedding feel like an intimate gathering of friends and family. To do this, we limited the guest list to only family and close friends and we chose to use our time wisely during the event so we wouldn’t miss anytime with our guests. For instance, we chose to do our pictures before the ceremony so we could be more relaxed and have more time with our guests during the cocktail hour.
Our love for anything natural and classic helped determine our color palette and overall style. While carefully considering the venue’s natural surroundings, we opted for shades of blues, whites and greens. For the bridesmaids, I chose J. Crew bridesmaid dresses in navy blue and asked the girls to pick from two styles. The groomsmen wore navy blazers, khaki pants and blue striped ties that were a gift from Kyle. The flowers were in varying shades of whites and greens and the tables were dressed in natural linen overlays (made by my grandmother and mother) with green pears atop each place setting.
SO much more to come!
